Even though the new look is good, I still love the look of yaBB SE and I think it would be a good idea if it were included as a theme. I know that we will be able to customize it as mich as we want, but I think thata lot of people like the yaBB SE standard look and would like to easily be able to keep it.
Would anyone else use it if it were included?
Well, two things have been said a couple times around here: the themes system will let you make whatever you want - even boards that look like other forum software AND the theme on this site will most likely NOT be included with the download package. So you don't have to worry about this one. ;)

It has been stated that a blue yabb se style theme will be included when released. And the style is pretty much identical to a 1.5.4 board :) Well untill you look at the differently layed out stuff like profile :p
Hey, lets hope that thing gets cleaned up, too. The default YaBBSE template is as close to spaghetti code as HTML allows. Yic!

Please tell me that this theme will be available to download. I like it better than the old yabbse theme. Its just more my style than the old yabbse theme. :)
At this time, this theme will not be made available. The graphics and such were designed specifically for simplemachines.org.
I do have my 'clean look' icon set which is the older version of these graphics. Rather than the rounded glass look, it has a slightly more square plastic look, but close enough. Unless the Project Managers specifically say, the graphics for this site will remain for this site only (although that's not my call, and I don't know how they want to work that). Keep in mind that all the anti-ailising was designed specifically for this template, so placing these graphics over different colors may create a... unique... effect.

Thanks for the reply. Although I think it might be a mistake not to release a theme that the simple machine site actually uses. But like you said its not my call. :-[
I guess when they release it I will just have to make my own theme. ;)
I am just glad the sources are still going to be free and it will be easier to make templates. :D

I really like this one too... can't wait to see what people copme up with for templates once they figure out what they can do with it.

I love text only theme's because of their loading speed :)
This theme is much better than old YSE look. Very calm and professional look.

Did I mention I like this one better. I had no problems, being the rookie I am with CSS on the CGI version, because you could just go to Template vault and load a new template, but the SE version seems to be a different layout, and I've feared making any changes to it.
The SE tempaltes was the same as the Y1G template.
SE had a few added CSS bits though.
Nothing to be afraid of though ;)
