Okay, I'm making a Smiley set.
However, it only contains 8 smileys.
When install it, it still lists the others, even though they do not exist.
To make this mod work, how would I set it so when the set is chosen, it only displays the ones in the set, and not all the others that do not have images in the set?
I know how to do it on my own site, I just need to know how to set it so it installs as a set and only displays them.
You basically don't. SMF wasn't designed for that circumstance.
Well, I can't submit an incomplete mod, so what do I do in this situation?
Well, you can submit it anyway because there are a ton of similarly incomplete smiley packs on the mod site, or you can submit it in the Graphics board as a regular thread...
Or make the complete set. Quite honestly the entire smiley setup needs an overhaul.
I can't complete the set. They are very old style, exported from an old online game. :)
So, may just submit them with some regular ones thrown in to keep it in line. :)
Smileys and Message Icons > Settings > Enable customized smileys (otherwise, the default smileys will be used.) > Edit Smileys - Select which you want displayed
Then it should show the ones you desire, rather than text as well :)
-sigh- As per the opening post, it is not relevant for a user to be able to customise their own. It does not help when you're bundling a smiley set for distribution.
Also, I stated I knew how to do it on my own site.
Was looking to see if there was a way to make a amiley set mod auto-do that when installed.
There seems to be no way, and my set is not really that great as it is, so topic and mod idea closed. :P
