Hello all, I've got a site, .com.
For some reason I can't moderate.
Signed in as the admin, members area still show me as admin (grado),
but when I go to delete a topic or message I get a screen saying "ask a mod or admin
to perform this task".
Any ideas short of going nabble?
Check your permissions if you gave admins right to delete topic via Admin->Features and Options->Membergroups->Permission
Thanks for the reply guy, when I get in there, membergroups and permissions,
there is no box to check to modify an admin. Guests, regular members, global mods,
all have a box to modify, but not admin.
Geez, what a mistake this was posting here.
To all you spammers and scammers,
how's about taking a long walk on a short pier why don't ya.
I'm sorry, why is it a mistake? Because you didn't get an answer within 15 minutes from people who do this in their spare time?
No, not at all.
In the last hour, before I took the site name down, I've had a few
sign up with very close user names and different IPs.
gri, and agreetogri, go harvest somewhere else.
Yup, spammers do that, though sometimes they do it without following links by just hitting newly registered domains.
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Spam_-_my_forum_is_flooded_with_spam,_what_can_I_do might be useful.
I stopped most of them with a question about the home page long ago,
wasn't until I put it up here, in this post, that the scum started up again.
I'm missing something, I'll get it sooner or later.
Thanks for the antispam link tho, ya never know too much.
Gri is a special person, if it was the "real Gri", because he isn't a spammer. He's a Russian guy with some interesting ideas, like if you disagree with him, you are a monkey compared to his Space Human...
Ya, he's a Russian, from the Russian Federation, somewhere in the Ukraine.
Agreetogri is from Long Beach, both have broken accent's, with nothing to contribute
to a motorcycle forum.
I hope he stay's away, I don't need or want his kind anywhere near me.
Gri has a long standing habit of joining any SMF forum he can find to make his case about the way the software should be. Some of his ideas aren't terrible, but they're certainly not ideal either. I thought he'd gotten bored of it by now though.
Thanks for the info guy.
Now, if gri wanted to talk BMW, or URAL's, or the Motogp team the Russians
have running next year, I'd love to have the guy around.
But to come on and ask to be added to the "admin user group" on a site I paid for,
well, he needs to get back on the special bus.
I'm out of here for a bit guys, ya'll have a good day.
Did you solve your issues with permissions, meanwhile?
No, I have not :(
I get it figured out I'll put it up.
Any suggestion as to to problem I'm having, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all...........grado
Are you sure you are in the Administrator's group?

..."ask a mod or admin to perform this task".
There is no such error in a clean SMF install. Is it *really* the error message you get?

Check your permissions if you gave admins right to delete topic via Admin->Features and Options->Membergroups->Permission
There are no permissions for administrators. The administrator can do *everything*.
