Otsikko: Need a little help with CSS or PHP (not sure which)
Kirjoitti: crash56 - joulukuu 08, 2013, 07:07:41 IP
Greetings,

I just upgraded my forum from 1.1.19 to 2.0.6.  Yippee!!  I'm doing a little modification of the theme (mostly changing colors using the style sheet), but I know next to nothing about CSS or PHP, so it's a tough slog.

I followed instructions in the "How to create a SMF theme" article in the Online Manual here, and got rid of the forum name, the SMF logo (but NOT the copyrights  ;) ), and replaced it with our masthead banner.  But even after some intense Googling, I can't figure out how to get it to center.  I can get it to float left or float right, but it won't float center.   :P

Can someone tell me where and how to center it?  Do I do it with the CSS style sheet or in the index.template.php file?  And what EXACTLY do I insert, please?  I need dummy instructions here.

Thanks!

Codes should still be the same on SMF2.0.6. :)

Nope.  Thanks for the search, but that didn't work.  I followed a link in the thread to an additional set of instructions, and that didn't work either.

I'm going to take a different route with this, so I'll mark it solved.

If you are still looking for some assistance:

Will you upload your index.template.php file, with your existing modifications.

It might be easier to try another theme that already centres the banner as some do...
