Block Censored Words

This MODification gives you the option to block the post to be sent if a censored word is detected. SMF's default behaviour replaces "bad words" with your mask but allows the post to go through. With this, the post cannot be sent and an error message is issued.

thank you very much for the  :)
A small suggestion for a future update - the ability to change the refusal message from within the admin, I know it can be done via editing the language file but it would be neater to do it via the admin but again, many thanks for this :)

GREAT modification!

I can only think of one possible improvement, and that would be to have a checkbox by each word that allows blocking on a word-by-word basis. In other words, you could censor some words and block others entirely.

Other than that I think this mod is perfect.

Thank you all for your comments.

MrMike, I understand your idea and, while it should be doable, it's basically a new and much different modification as the changes are terribly different.

About the change of the message in the admin panel, it's actually very easy to implement. I'm just not sure that is actually useful to add a new database field because of something that will become static...

Apologise for resurrecting an old topic, I was actually looking for this type of mod but is it possible to show which word is blocked once they submit the post so users are not left second guessing? Also does this mod still work on 2.0.11

Not with the correct incarnation of the MOD. It should be "easy" to do it I suppose, but I need to look at it for a while.

The reason why I asked was because when I first implemented the censor system (mainly to stop ad-publishers whinning about NSFW content) some of my members got pissed off or would inadvertently blame their phones/ devices "auto-correct" feature.  :P

If members could get some sort of an "alert" or "warning" before posting (that their x-word will be censored), they would relax more. xD

No, before submission clearly not as this is only evaluated at that time.

This doesn't allow for editing a post anyone can edit a post and include the censored words and it won't give the error like with a new post.
