Post by: peps1 on December 12, 2013, 10:43:00 AM
! want to switch from 1.1.x to 2.0.x using large upgrade, but in the instructions it just tells me to backup my database and extract the upgrade files before uploading.......it  doesn't tell me if I need to delete/overwrite my existing files?  :-\

In order to start with clean files (you might keep "leftovers" from MODs), you should delete everything except:
- Settings.php
- Settings_bak.php
- avatars (folder)
- attachments (folder)

Check you have other content, in other eventual folders. Don't delete "blindly" without, at least, take a full backup of all your files, as well as database.

Just to note... If you have a load of custom smileys, you might want to keep the Smileys directory and not overwrite that one, coz you'll have them replaced by the naff SMF custom ones.
