Title: Installing and Connecting to existing database
Post by: tonzodehoo on March 06, 2014, 03:58:55 PM
I am looking at the possibility of switching from PhpBB3 to SM and was wondering if it is possible to use the existing database established for phpBB or is it necessary to have to do the transfer once SM has been installed?
I imagine that there may be database structural issues to do with this but I was wondering if it was at all possible to link up the new install of SM to the phpbb database?

With this converter, you just upload everything into the forum directory and run convert.php (After you back everything up, obviously). It uses your existing database.
