Title: Communication icons
Post by: mantu2 on May 12, 2014, 05:54:02 AM
I updated my forum from 1.1.9. to 2.0.7. and users found out that some changes has happened in sending emails. The email issue is about communication icons (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Profile). There is no possibility to change the picture icon link to mail to -link as it was in previous version. At least I can't find such option.  This new feature doesn't work on my forum because people need to send appendix all the time to each others. Also not too good thing is that there is admin's email as a sender. There is no need my email to be in emails which people sends to each others.

So - how can I make configuration as needed?

We removed the direct mail link for security purposes, plain and simple.

To change it, you would have to edit the code in several places....  And I do not recommend it.

Ok. To avoid my email address on the posts, is it possible to modify this feature away or is it possible to disable the whole button? If disabled, people can see each others emails in their profiles and I think that is good enough.

there is a way to show the link, via a setting in the admin panel [which i am not saying where it is] and has been removed from 2.1.

The people on your forum can use the PM system in SMF as a replacement for e-mail.
