I've seen on vB and IPB forums that they have a staff page as standard. I'd to see one with SMF too. Would be good. Might be something for when 1.1 goes final or 1.2.
The way I see it working is that there is a link to the staff page in the main menu navigation thing uptop.
And to make it so that an admin could specify which group were staff they could set that up when get go to set up the member groups.
eg:
This group is a staff group: [ ]
This group is based off posts: [ ]
A mod would also work. ;)
I support this idea.
But, I've got a suggestion for another way of handling it. Put a tab on the members page. So it looks like:
View All Members | Forum Staff | Search Members
Example of what Maggie means: vB.com's Forum Leaders page (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showgroups.php).
I plan eventually to include this in my Groups mod. it will be a long way away though sorry.
I was hoping it could become a default SMF feature. It would help a lot of people. :)
I've got it on my forum already, I had my tech support dude write it up for me, its nowhere near what I imagined, but it does its job.

i'd have just created a tab in the menu bar , create a tinyportal article with your custom staff details on it and set it to not appear on the front page and put that link in the menu button
this sounds like it would be brilliant... i would love to have this in my forum

I was thinking of something automatic. You'd have to edit the page each time you add a new staffer that way.
I love this ideia!
I sugest that some admin funtionality to select which group can be visible on the staff page and an aditional group "forum leders" that shows the moderator and the boards the he/she moderats.

Bringing back to the top. Please people, keep working on this. I would LOVE this feature. Make it a mod for 1.1rc2, THEN make it default. I want it now lol, not when the next version ofsmf comes out...
THANKS!
Made a basic Staff page mod.

And also submited to SMF mod site need to wait for approval for it.
great
hope this will be a abuilt-in feature
Thanks vbgamer45. I will check that out.
/me Backs up current staff page and takes a look
EDIT: When I installed it, it was a total mess. It picked up on all of my membergroups, even the ones I didnt want on the staff page and there wasnt an option in the Membergroup thing to take them off.
Also it picked up on their login name rather than their screen name. In my case, Gazmanafc showed up instead of Tails.
Hmm, I am going to look that right now. I just tested in on my one board with one local mod and me as admin.
You might wanna take a look at:

I already had a staff page, and I was simply saying that I would back them up and try your mod out.
Ok fixed the html. It should show them all in rows now.
One note it does show all non posting groups at the moment.
Later on I may add a setting in the admin panel to toggle which groups are shown.

Thats why my banned members and friends showed up. There's only 5 staff groups on my forum, but I have like 8 non-post groups. ;)
Fixed the username's being shown. Now it shows the real name aka their display name.
I will see if I get some time this weekend to add some settings for it.
Nice mod, This would be a great feature for smf. :)
Updated again. Groups with zero members won't be shown now.
Demo at:
http://www.smfseo.net/forums/index.php?action=staff
I wrote one staff page to my forum, look here: http://www.lei-forum.com/index.php?action=staff
At the moment only appears 2 groups (Administrators and SuperModerators) and the board Moderators, my forum has more non post groups, but I didn't write anything to select witch groups are visible, I only code what I needed at that moment..., now I'm without time to rewrite that..., and make that robust...
