Otsikko: Send reset password email to all users??

I found this post in forum - but no resolution:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=473431.0

Posted earlier today on SMF 2.0 support board and was suggested I post here:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=524269.0

I am migrating to SMF - and bringing the current user community (200-300)...
Obviously the password field won't come across - so my thought was to have everyone reset their passwords...

While I can obviously send them an email asking them to go to 'Login' and click 'forgot password' and enter their username or email... I thought it would be much friendlier (and be better received with higher likelihood people would come to the site...) if they each got an email with the password reset link ready to go...
(It was mentioned I could save users a couple of clicks by sending them directly to /index.php?action=reminder - but still requires them to enter username/email - and wait for the email to arrive..

The 'forgot password' form drives link: mydomain.com/index.php?action=reminder;sa=picktype [nonactive]
passing the user and a hidden field.
I've tried directly accessing the url passing the user with no success ('Your session timed out while posting. Please go back and try again.')

Is there a way to drive this programmatically (from php? perhaps with cURL?) that someone has already figured out?
Entering 200-300 id's manually isn't my idea of fun... and I want their first experience with SMF and the new site to be a good one... :)

Thanks!
Greg

In SMF's conversion scripts when you convert from one forum software to SMF, the conversion somehow marks their passwords as needing to be updated. This requires the user when they login the next time to update their password I believe. Sounds like what you are trying to do?
