Title: IPB converter question
Post by: maritimesbob on October 12, 2005, 10:23:59 PM
Probably a dumb question and I apologise for it in advance!!

My invision 2.0 forum is installed in a directory called /board

I wish to install my SMF forum in a directory called /forums

They would be using the same database, however in a different directory it doesn`t matter?

No, you should use different directories, otherwise your files probably get mixed up.  ;) Using the same database is no problem at all, just make sure you use different prefixes.

Yeah, that make sense!!

Can the conversion be done with IPB in maintenance mode (offline)? Reason is I don`t want members using the forums while the transfer is in progress!

Yeah, you should be able to do that. Just remember to tell your users to visit the new board instead of the old one once you're done.
