Title: Users can't stay logged in
Post by: Tuba on February 28, 2015, 10:11:58 AM
Hi, my forum was working fine until I switched servers one of these days.

After the switch, everything seems to be working fine but my users are complaining that they can't stay logged in. I believe that this is being caused by some variable that was using some data from the old server that has changed in the new one, but can't find out what it is.

I've tried updating it to 2.0.9 but the problem persists.

Any ideas of what could be causing that?

Thanks

Apparently it's related to cookies and the PHPSESSID thing, I have never noticed it there before. From what I looked in this forums, the PHPSESSID variable should only appear on the forum url the first time a user logged in but it's showing up on every page and in the middle of the url.

Please help :(

Can you get us a phpinfo?
What is a phpinfo() file? (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/What_is_a_phpinfo()_file)

Did you run repair_settings after the move?

Tried using repair_settings, changed some settings but the problem is still there.

Here's the phpinfo http://www.gamesfoda.net/forum/phpinfo.php

Talked to the host and they disabled it, everything working now.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the double posting. :)
