I was checking out the simplemachines stuff and I'd like to implement it on my subforum where furniture reseller can communicate with each other (private forum). I currently run wordpress with bbpress addon at my website and I was curuious whether there are any possiblities to convert BBpress to SMF (I couldn't find it on this forum).

I never worked with that software neither tried a converter for it :( Maybe you can try and let us know the outcome?
I work as a freelancer I got this same task to be done.
Converting bbpress to SMF. I referred the above link given by Margarett (Thanks) but i am worrying about loosing the data. Margarett can you please confirm that everything will be ok ? if i refer. My client should not loos the data.
I can confirm that the original forum (BBPress) will be untouched. A backup never hurts, especially if you are doing it in a live forum. If I were to do it, I would export the database and files, and perform the first test conversion with that duplicate. If everything goes fine, then repeat it in the "live" forum.
