This is probably not related to the MOD...

Which SMF version are you running? Can you get us a phpinfo?
What is a phpinfo() file? (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/What_is_a_phpinfo()_file)

PHP not getting enough memory then which can be changed in php.ini if the OP has access to it. ;)

actually, if the user is running a version prior to 2.0.7, that would explain the issue (and no, changing the php mem value in php.ini will likely not help)
