Title: Lost topics during conversion from phpbb 3.0.12 to SMF 2.0.10
Post by: CrissyUK on August 18, 2015, 06:22:41 PM
Good evening,

Is there a way to fix this? I seem to have lost many threads and posts (2000-ish)  during the conversion which went very smoothly otherwise.

Forum is at http://hsocuk.com/forums/

I have already done a few mods to the forum and I was wondering if at this stage it would be safe to run the converter again to see if it picks up the missing threads?

Or can this be done manually in mysql?

Thank you,
Cristina

First we need to understand why you lost these posts... It isn't supposed to happen, as the converter doesn't exclude anything...

If you repeat the conversion you should probably get the same results...

Hi Bruno,

Thank you for getting back to me.

In the meantime I found what the problem was: one of the topics was posted on phpBB across all boards as a global announcement - the converter didn't know what board to assign it to so this topic's id_board was set to 0 in the database.

Changed 0 to the appropriate board number and it all reappeared.

Thanks again and best wishes,
Cristina
