Title: Wrong Path for the update!
Post by: DarkTexas on October 14, 2015, 06:38:15 AM
Hi, I wanted to upgrade my test-forums.

I got this error when running upgrade.php

which means, SMF means  C:\Inetpub\vhosts\glj-ps2.de\forum.glj-ps2.de\avatars\rez\  is the path to the forums.. but it's not.

The Path is D:\inetpub\vhosts\gljclan.de\dev.gljclan.de\ where can I change that setting? C:\Inetpub\vhosts\glj-ps2.de\forum.glj-ps2.de\avatars\rez\  was the Path on the old server before the export of the working/main forums weeks ago.

Regards,

Chris

The problem is that SMF stores the themes paths in the database and it uses them to upgrade. Long story short, this means that your "source" database must belong to a FULLY FUNCTIONAL forum before you can launch the upgrade.
So load 2.0.10 files in that folder (instead of the 2.1 files), load and run repair_settings and fix all paths, delete everything except Settings.php and then load the 2.1 files and the upgrade.

Ok, just did.
Removed everything, just the settings.php were there.
Loaded the Upgrade files in the folder, same error >.<

do you use a custom avatar's folder? if so that path does not get corrected with repair_settings.php. you would need to fix that manually in the database.
