Nice theme, why not change link colors to match?

I will try it. A lot of responsive themes do not work properly - menu problems.

Only thing I do not like is the side menu. The reason is that  I (and many people) use Simple Portal (one of the most popular mods) so I end up with 2 side columns. Would be nice if there was an option to have the  menu on the top all the time.
Still, I will give it a try as it looks pretty good and a lot of our forum users access the site from their phone. I had to go back to Curve as there were so many problems with themes and mods, or mobile theme menus not working.

I have not found any 'mistake' with your theme. The problems were with other themes.

There is a mistake in this theme throwing a lot of error:

The function theme_linktree in index.template.php is using $scripturl w/o declaration.

line 675 is

global $context, $settings, $options, $shown_linktree;

has to be

global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $shown_linktree;

Hi

I've downloaded the theme and it is in my Themes directory, fully expanded.

However, it will not install.

I added the directory name to the path for /Themes/Wide (and also tried vWide) and install icon clicking is not responsive :(

Now what please?

Thanks in advance.

I like this theme, thank you.  It also fixes the auto snap arrange issue that doesn't work quite right the on the stock 2.0.11 theme.   Though, this theme does need some tweaking to make it better, but I believe this is a great foundation for me to learn from.

Use firebug or if you use Google Chrome you can inspect elements, that will show you where it all happens :)

I have used this theme and really like it, the issue I have is on older, smaller mobiles, the user bar with "Unread Replies Logout"  floats over the forum categories making it impossible to select any. This seems to keep out of the way on larger mobiles like my Galaxy S6 but iphone 4's and the mini versions of samsungs have issues.
My forum is vjmc(hyphen)tb(dot)co(dot)uk(slash)forum
can you point me in the right direction to correct this or maybe fix this at the top of the selections so that it scrolls away as you move down the page?

Thanks.  :D

Can anyone help with this please, it seems like it should be easy to fix if I knew where to go. It seems that the view switches once the width reduces below about half screen (on my pc screen) and it's there that the header needs changing to sit above the forum body and scroll away as you scroll down and not stay covering the top of the screen.

I have just found also that the theme throws up an error if you try to access your profile. I'll try to get a note when I get back on my PC .

Many thanks in advance for any help and if I'm asking in the wrong place then apologies can I be pointed to the right place please.
thanks, Andy.

I was having a similar issue, and since I'm not that experienced with responsive css, it took some trial and error to try to resolve my issue.
What I ended up doing was going to the Theme folder's css sub-folder and finding the responsive.css file. Then inside, look for ".inventea-wrapper" and add    background: transparent; to the end of it (before the bracket) and make sure border is set to 0.

It may not be a "pretty" fix, but I'm gonna settle for it until the theme author or someone else with more experience can help.
Title: Re: Wide A Responsive Theme for SMF 2.0.11
Post by: andyt1320 on November 04, 2016, 09:10:18 AM
Thanks wicked1 isn't that going to just deal with the bar and make the background see-through rather than the ideal solution to make the forum logo and bar both scroll up out of the way along with the page?

The other issue I mentioned is with the profile, this is the error that I get:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IS_EQUAL, expecting '(' in /home/vjmctbco/public_html/forum/Sources/Profile-View.php on line 403

Any help gratefully received of I will probably run out of patience with this one and look for a different theme without these issues.
Title: Re: Wide A Responsive Theme for SMF 2.0.11
Post by: andyt1320 on November 04, 2016, 10:18:42 AM
In the index.css at line 3610 I have changed Position: Fixed; into Position: Relative; as this deals with the header area in the left border so when you use a mobile to view the forum, which is not very wide and it tries to re-order everything into a column, it leaves the header at the top of the page and it scrolls up out of the way. Result, but probably not the most elegant way of getting there!
Just the profile issue to look at now. Any help on that one would be gratefully received.
thanks.

So as if to prove that I really could use some help here... the "fix" in my last post works great on desktops at high resolutions and on mobiles but is all screwed uo now on tablets and older laptops!  :o :-[
I guess as there has been no help coming on this theme, I'd better just delete it out and try to find something that works. Perhaps I should have realised that some of the themes out there are only any good to you if you really know css and can fix them so the work on your forum!

I think I'm alone in here.... I can hear an echo.......echo.......echo..

For this you must look in your CSS and with the navigator of elements of the navigator that you use it must be easy to locate it;)

Best theme for me but there is a problem with low resolution displays - sidebar is way too big!

When i click top left button for off menu it shrinks and looks great. But as soon as i click anything else it gets large again!

Is there a possibility for a sidebar to always be small (off menu) with icons instead of text or when you click the off menu icon (top left) that it stays always small and not change when you open any other link, cause it eats space on my low resolution and i dont want to remove it with minimizing my browser window?

    background-color: rgb(123, 186, 168);
    float: left;
    height: 35px;
    width: 42px;

The theme has not yet been made available to members. I'm testing ...
There are also many error messages. These are related to the mod Google Member Map. Probably they will be solved after an update of this mod.

Is there a solution for the side bar issue(if I close or open it it re-directs to the index)?  :(

Really like this theme it's just what I need. I only have one issue that I cannot seem to resolve and am hoping someone can help!

At the top of the slide in menu where the little "teachers hat" logo is, the name of my forum doesn't actually fit as it's too long. Is it possible to remove the name altogether (I'm not bothered about it being there) and also I'd like to change the little logo but can't find it's location. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

Quick edit. Have sorted the forum name issue by reducing the font size in the css. If anyone knows how I can edit the logo that would be great !!  ;)

The theme is working well for me.
A small problem.
When looking at the memberlist or who is online, the useron.gif does not show up.

Instead the broken image icon appears, as shown in the attached image.

I have checked that useron.gif is in the theme images folder, and it is there.

Any idea why it does not appear correctly?

Thank you

Found that the missing online icon was browser dependent.
I had been using Opera.
The icon IS visible in Chrome and Firefox. So mark this problem as solved.

Thank you.

Well First up I all I would like to thanks a lot to the author Gecitli for providing such a wonderful responsive theme for us.
Kudos for your effort.

Some errors are expected but you have been very quick and keen in replying to queries and solving many such errors for other users.

Myself went through the discussions here and fixed some stuffs like defaultavatar, noavatar , and useron.gif issues. They are working good now. But there are few issues on my own forum that haven't been discussed here yet. I'm not sure whether it is particular to my case or others are facing the same issue.

1) The menu icon doesn't show the menu but redirects to the index page
2) Site Logo isn't shown properly and hides somewhere behind the hat icon in top left corner in Desktop. Same case in mobile. Also wanted to know what would be the optimal size for the banner. (Was using 1500x120 px banner in default theme and it was working fine, wish to use same here at the top of the page ) and how could you remove the hat icon
3) Same issue is with the site slogan and it isn't shown anywhere (text or image) , also could you set image as site slogan like in default theme

Have installed the theme for few days now and I really like it a lot and truly appreciate your effort. Just these few things bothering me.

I am sure you will provide a solution though.

My website is www(dot)ramailoforum(dot)com - Please do check it and analyze if you may.

Thanks in advance and Regards.

Hello RamailoForum.com , if you edit the logo, many features will not work but instead create a field like the one shown in the picture,

(https://i.hizliresim.com/bBDkXZ.jpg)

index.template.php

Find:
<section class="content">

Add After:

<div class="top-banner">
<a class="logo_destop" title="' . $context['forum_name'] . '" href="'.$scripturl.'"></a>
<div class="news normaltext hidden-xs hidden-sm">';
// Show a random news item? (or you could pick one from news_lines...)
if (!empty($settings['enable_news']))
echo '
<h2>', $txt['news'], ': </h2>
<p>', $context['random_news_line'], '</p>';

echo '
</div>
</div>';

index.css
Find:
/* Styles for print media.

Add Before:

.content-wrapper .top-banner {
    color: #fff;
    padding: 10px;
    height: 100px;
    min-height: 132px;
    margin-bottom: 3px;

Thanks Gecitli for your quick response. I have used SMFAds for Free Forum mod to display site banner that solved the site banner issue... the code modification you have suggested should solve the issue as well for others users including me. I need a help from you to solve the following issues:

1)Can you suggest a way to change the hat icon for something else or mention where is it located.

2)The menu thing is still troubling me. When you click on the menu icon it redirects to the index page. Could you please suggest a solution for it.  Without it, it's still not a real problem on Desktop where you can see sidebar menu on left but you have no option when you login to a mobile and no admin menu is displayed unless you request a desktop site on mobile.

3)Also, could you suggest a easy way to embed a Facebook like button. The Facebook Slide Box mod doesn't seem to be working.

I am using SMF 2.0.15 and my website is ramailoforum.com (same as my username). Feel free to ask if you need any other information.

Thanks in advance and Regards.

UPDATE:

The menu icon seems to be working fine now on Desktop (Narrows and expands menu) and mobile (shows user menu)

I have no clue why it didn't work earlier.

Really loving the theme. Thank you. I have a question relating to css.
When I view the theme on my iphone the title of a post wraps so that the text only fills half the line.

So for example a post titled
"Promoting Yourself on School Clubs Forum" fills one line on PCs and tablets.

But on a phone it becomes

Promoting Yourself
on School
Clubs Forum

and to the right of this text is a large white space covering about 50% of the view.

I cannot work out what to change in the css to make the title flow across the whole of the screen instead of breaking half way across.
Do you have any tips on how I can fix this please.

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply gecitli
Attached is a screen grab of the post's title area when the browser window is reduced to the size of a mobile phone screen.

It looks as though the title "The New Member Welcome PM" should be able to flow into the space on the right, but it wraps a couple of times leaving a lot of white space. This also has the effect of pushing the contents of the post lower down.

When I "inspect" this area in Google Chrome I cannot work out what to alter to make the text flow correctly.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the reply gecitli

I looked at the post you referred to and the code you added in the last post. I played around with the index.css file but I could not affect the amount of white space in the title in mobile view. The post's title text stays over on the left half of the screen in mobile view.

Your update worked perfectly.
The key addition to index.css in line 3794 was

.keyinfo {
    float: left;
    width: 100%;
}

The title text now flows fully across the screen when viewed on mobile.
Thank you so much.

Is there a way to remove, or change the Teacher's Hat??!! I really like this theme, but the teacher's hat has got to go if I'm going to be able to use it.
I've read through the post and seen a few people ask about it, but not seen a answer that works to remove it.
Thanks

I figured out how to edit and/or remove the teachers hat. so for those interested this is the fix for that.

find the following code in index.template.php:

<header class="main-header">
   <h1 class="logo">
      <a href="', $scripturl, '"><i class="fa fa-graduation-cap"></i>&nbsp;', empty($context['header_logo_url_html_safe']) ? $context['forum_name'] : '<img src="' . $context['header_logo_url_html_safe']   . '" alt="' . $context['forum_name'] . '" />', '</a>
   </h1>

Edit or Remove "<i class="fa fa-graduation-cap">
To Edit to an icon of your choice pic one a Font Awesome Icon and change the name to it instead. for example to <i class="fa fa-home"> .
you can find a list of font awesome Icons in a quick google search if needed.

Great theme - love it!

Mobile theme works perfect.

On laptop, the left menu, when closed, doesn't stay closed when I click on any link - it opens back up.  Is there a way for the menu to stay closed when I click on the menu button - until I click it to open again?

Thanks!

Okay - I take that back, the mobile theme isn't perfect.  The login button doesn't work.  Not the one on the collapsible menu but the top right login link.  The register button works great.

Thanks!

Hey, congrats on having the only theme ready for 2.1 RC1

Haven't had much time to play with it yet, but I've found two issues:

1) the board category expand/collapse icons seem broken
2) In the admin backend, some controls are white-on-while and so unreadable (see attached). This isn't just in the "Configuration" section... any admin section with subsections does this (but at least you can still see the names from the expanding pulldown menus off the blue buttons, so it's not a showstopper... the problem buttons are kind of a redundant UI aspect of SMF)

I still need to dive in and see what's involve in changing the logo. Unfortunately the amount of space in the upper-left box seems rather small. :(

Cheers...

It would be a great theme but it doesn't look good on phone or tablet. The language dropdown field is floating as you scroll down the page. The links on the sidebar not visible until you touch them (except the first one) beside the links with dropdowns don't work at all (e.g., admin and moderate).

As for the desktop view there is an extra space under the forum with Firefox and Microsoft Edge (see the attched picture) with Opera and Chrome it isn't there though.
It would be much better if the sidebar would remain toggled when you toggle it until you click on the toggle icon again.

It solved the problem of the admin backend links and the floating language field but not the others, the links on the sidebar still not visible and the dropdowns still not working and there is the space with Firefox.

are both set to disable and i have added several low sizes but didnt resize so i guess the theme only use those settings for image attachments and not url [img] links images. but i installed this mod below and it solved the problem now.maybe op can check the mode and see what was added  and use it to upgrade the theme soon.

i still have other issues , the logo png not showing full size of my logo 350 x 120 . my old theme dani shows full size, how do i may the smf logo show actual size . what to change in css file. also i changed from dani to this wide theme because of responsiveness, dani is not fully responsive and doesnt help with google rank.i just started using this theme but i observed its a bit slow and will try it for more days.

i tried boru theme on one of my website and i must give it up for boru for its speed , boru ranked my website within 24hours.the site have not rank before i installed boru. what i dislike about boru is the black theme and also it doesnt open topics accurate. boru is very fast and rank website fast.i will suggest to boru op to change that disgusting black color and make links and topics open normal, until then i will keep trying different themes that are fully responsive and good for seo.i am giving wide theme a trial and i suggest op looks at boru theme and emulate some changes.

Hi gecitli and thank you for this theme.

I'm experimenting with a few themes recently and thought I'd give vVide a shot.

Not being a graphics person at all, where should my forum logo be appearing?

(https://i.imgur.com/kjFeeXO.jpg)

There are no mods applied to this 2.0.17 installation.

When I inspect the page I can toggle .logo>height to make part of the logo appear but it's not in a position that's useful:

(https://i.imgur.com/8HkFhex.jpg)

Can you offer assistance getting the logo to show please?

As it stands, the logo file is 790px * 150px

The first block to find ".main-header .logo {" didn't exist in the index.css file as posted above, however a cutdown version of it did, which I replaced as instructed.

.main-header .logo {
    float: left;
    text-align: center;
    width: 230px;
    overflow: hidden;
}

I also added the bits you recommended between the comment and the "@media print" section.

/* Styles for print media.
------------------------------------------------------- */
.main-header .logo a img {
  -webkit-transition: width 0.3s ease-in-out;
  -o-transition: width 0.3s ease-in-out;
  transition: width 0.3s ease-in-out;
  display: block;
  float: left;
  height: 57px;
  font-size: 20px;
  line-height: 50px;
  text-align: center;
  width: 230px;
  font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
  padding: 0 15px;
  font-weight: 300;
  overflow: hidden;
}
@media print
{
#headerarea
{
display: none;
}

.tborder
{
border: none;
}
}

I also edited the template as instructed.

Whilst better than before, the image is truncated.

I played around - quite randomly - with some of the heights and widths and ended up with this, which I'm happy with.

What is the purpose of the following code in index.css?

.topic_pages::before {
content: " ÂÃ,«";
}
.topic_pages::after {
content: " ÂÃ,»"
}

All it seems to do is corrupt the display of pages in the topic listing. I downloaded the WideRC.zip three times to make sure it wasn't some sort of download issue.

That's all very nice, but why were the garbage characters in the CSS in the first place? Your new CSS is quite different from the one in the ZIP.

hello what is your web address.

Is there a solution for the side bar issue(if I close or open it it re-directs to the index)?  :(

Maybe some of installed modifications causes that issue.
In my forum, the problem was resolved after uninstalling 'Auto Tweet embed' mod.

The bad CSS is in the ZIP file one installs to add the theme.

I use Wide_RC2 theme with SMF 2.1 RC2.

How can I remove avatar images from Board index and from Message index too?
I use another mod called 'Avatars Display Integration' (https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=4246), and I wish to use its avatar images. Else avatar images are duplicated  ::)

Been trialling this theme for a while on a customer's site. They like it. I like it.

Odd thing occurs when using Firefox 74, but not on other browser technologies.

The (https://i.imgur.com/kEHdJc1.gif) link does not take the browser to the last unread message within a topic. Research says it may be linked to the order in which the various javascript files are loaded and only seems to affect the Mozilla product.

Any thoughts?

I've been preparing a new SMF 2.0.17 forum using this theme and, after having done lots of little tweaks to improve its responsiveness with the mods I've installed, I'm just about ready to launch the forum.

However, one issue I do have is that the user-selected display state of the sidebar (ie, expanded or collapsed) is not remembered on non-mobile devices (eg, desktops, laptops, tablets, etc) - if I collapse the sidebar and then click on a link anywhere in the forum (eg, Category name, Board name, Topic title, Unread Posts, etc) the sidebar expands again.

Would it be possible to update the Javascript  for the sidebar and/or the index.template.php file so that if the user has collapsed the sidebar it is only expanded when they click on the expand/collapse button again?

Hi all,

great Theme, I really like it and will surely replace the outdated one I'm currently using.

However, I still have one problem which I cannot resolve - the small icons on the sidebar (minimized and maxized) are missing. I assume this is a problem with the symbol font which seems not to have loaded.

Strange enough, in the main forum section below postings (buttons reply, notify, etc.) they show up.

Any ideas? Thank you for your help!

I've decided to add 'sidebar-collapse' class to the <body> tag in index.template.php so that sidebar is collapsed by default - for me this is preferable to having it expanding automatically.

<body class="hold-transition skin-blue sidebar-mini">';

Hello gecitli, GL700Wing,

thank you for your help and advice.

@GL700Wing: I switched the folder rights to 644, but as expected it didn't help. Based on my past experience, 755 is somehow standard for directories which are only used by a service / daemon like http

@gecitli:

I know that some graphics are missing when calling the forum via http instead of https, but that's fine. After the first click you are redirected to https as this is specified as forum url and everywhere else in the settings. I did run repair_settings.php and confirmed that all URLs are pointing to https and not http.

I even amended font-awesome.min.css and bootsrap.css and replaced the relative paths with the full URL (https://....) which didn't help.

The (Font-)Icons at the end are showing up fine, same for the magnifying glass etc. I know that some gifs ("new") are missing but these just need to be copied over.

I even cleared my .htaccess to make sure that the NiceUrl-Mod doesn't interfere at this point by rewriting the font url by mistake, but this didn't help also.

Really confusing...

As a last resort I could just install SMF and the template to one of my dev servers not using https, but I'm afraid this won't help me finding the error related to https here.

Thanks,

Thomas

EDIT: the magnifying glass is being shown - isn't that also a part of the font?

Hi gectitli,

my test env is secured, but I installed a working copy on prod - https://forum.usa-reise.de

Please register, I'll then confirm your user and then you can change your Theme to usar-vVide (I added the prefix to distinguish from the untouched version from your package).

Don't get confused by the fact that the last post avatars are shown twice - our standard theme couldn't display these by default that's why I had to add a mod. I'll remove it as soon your theme goes finally live.

Paths are o.k. so far, see attachment.

Thanks,

Hi gectili,

thank you for the analysis.

I already suspected that the pretty links mod has something to do with this, that's why I clreared the .htaccess (containing the rewrites) in my test env completely but this didn't help.

I'll remove it now in my test env via the admin menu in order to get rid of all code changes and will see what happens.

If this does the trick, I either have to found an alternative to pretty urls (which hopefully creates a similiar output else all internal links in the posts will be messed up) or find a way to get around it. I really like this theme.

But maybe I should ask my VIP users first what they think before starting to work on it.

Thank you so much for your help and support gecitli, I really appreciate that.  :)

But I am having trouble installing it (newbie).
Created a new sub-domain, installed SMF.
The newly created forum works OK.
Installed Wide RC2.
Now I receive the error "Page isn't working etc. HTTP ERROR 500"
Run repair_settings.php, set SMF Default theme as overall forum default, the page is back to life.

How can I find what I am doing wrong?
Where should I look?

Restating my problem:
Installed SMF 2.0.17
The newly created forum opens OK
Error log shows always this error ("General"):

8: Trying to access array offset on value of type null
File: /home/vol15_6/epizy.com/epiz_25029984/fdl.rf.gd/htdocs/Sources/Load.php
Line: 168

Although each access generates this error, the page works OK
Downloaded Wide_RC2 from the original SMF theme site:
https://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2837

Go to Admin CP and installed Wide
The forum fails to re-open, error "Page isn't working etc. HTTP ERROR 500"

Run repair_settings.php, set SMF Default theme as overall forum default, the forum is back to life.
Login as Admin, now the error log shows a new error ("Critical):

http://fdl.rf.gd/index.php?action=admin;area=theme;b31100c=634c526e37d49c2fececa3c2cf6dd2fa;sa=admin
Call to undefined function loadCSSFile()

So I guess this points to the cause of the forum crashing when Wide is the default Theme.
What can I do about this?

I have this theme installed on an SMF 2.0.17 forum and while investigating a JavaScript issue and I noticed the following error message in the console:
Uncaught TypeError: $.webtiryaki is undefined
    <anonymous> https://my.domain.com/forum/Themes/vVide/scripts/app.js?fin20:133

which refers to the following line of code:
var o = $.webtiryaki.options;

Is this something I need to be concerned about and/or how can I fix this issue?
I managed to resolve this issue by clearing the cache - strange thing is I have never edited this JS file so I don't why the error was being reported.

Hello, a new base js needs to be written for this.
Last week I discovered an SMF 2.0.17 forum using this theme (https://forum1.pvxplus.com/index.php) where the sidebar toggle state is remembered on both non-mobile devices and mobile devices and by using a web inspector I worked out that the toggle state was being managed via a cookie.

By updating ./Themes/vVide/scripts/app.js to create/remove a cookie for the sidebar push menu and also updating ./Themes/vVide/index.template.php to check for the cookie I now have the user-selected display state of the sidebar (ie, expanded or collapsed) being remembered on both mobile and non-mobile devices (eg, desktops, laptops, tablets, etc).

./Themes/vVide/scripts/app.js
Find:
//Enable sidebar push menu
if ($(window).width() > (screenSizes.sm - 1)) {
  if ($("body").hasClass('sidebar-collapse')) {
$("body").removeClass('sidebar-collapse').trigger('expanded.pushMenu');
  } else {
$("body").addClass('sidebar-collapse').trigger('collapsed.pushMenu');
  }
}

Replace With:
//Enable sidebar push menu
if ($(window).width() > (screenSizes.sm - 1)) {
  if ($("body").hasClass('sidebar-collapse')) {
$("body").removeClass('sidebar-collapse').trigger('expanded.pushMenu');
document.cookie = "sidebar_collapse=; path=/; secure=true; expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT;";
  } else {
$("body").addClass('sidebar-collapse').trigger('collapsed.pushMenu');
document.cookie = "sidebar_collapse=true; path=/; secure=true;";
  }
}

Note: Do not use the 'secure=true;' flag for or non-HTTPS websites.

./Themes/vVide/index.template.php
Find:
<body class="hold-transition skin-blue sidebar-mini">';
Replace With:
<body class="hold-transition skin-blue sidebar-mini' . (!empty($_COOKIE['sidebar_collapse']) ? ' sidebar-collapse' : '') . '">';

I've had my eye on this theme for a while now. I really like its different take on layout, with the dynamic menu column along the left side instead of the top. This makes far better use of widescreen space than a fixed-width layout with wasted whitespace on the left and right.

My big holdup is the logo. I see plenty of varied manual hacks but nothing smooth and seamless. And no matter what, the size of the logo is extremely limited, restricted to an abnormally tiny corner in the upper-left. I'm not sure what the solution is, but some sort of layout tweak to allow "normal" sized banner logos, simply set in "Logo image URL:" under Theme Options, and where setting a logo URL replaces the teacher's hat would be the final tweak that nails it.  I really don't want to have to keep manually re-hacking the theme after each update... the mechanisms are in SMF for setting the URL and with most themes, setting one REPLACES whatever default image was there.

My current banner logo is 486x100

Hi GL700Wing,

I plan to use this theme as well and am still running into trouble regarding the small icons in front of the menu items on the side (Register, Login, Calendar, ...) - see my previous posts in this thread many weeks ago.

I had a look at your forum and noticed that you have defined e.g. as "button_register", however I couldn't find this reference in the css the page loads.

Could you let me know where (or how) this is defined? The template works fine for me so far, I even have the hat (plain install) in the upper left corner however am missing all the other small icons.

Looks to me that these really need to be defined somewhere additionally.

Thank you for your help!

I really like this theme. That's why I reinstalled it on the Hobbybrewing.nl forum. Members have the option of choosing a theme. I had the theme Vvide installed as the default theme but members can't see the Unread Replies, Read Replies And logout button. As an administrator of the site, I do see this button. Members only see a dot.
I have no idea how to solve this. I have read the entire topic. Did I miss anything?

It's a known issue for themes that aren't updated for SMF 2.1.x, RC4 and below and likely to have issues.

@Totosfo - Apologies for the delayed response but I am currently away on holidays (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?msg=4110522) and I don't have access to the computer and tools I'd normally use to look into this (I love my iPad but not for coding/debugging ...).  That said I've had a quick look and can see that I made the change you're looking for in the theme's index.template.php file (you'll see that I've added the class fa-xl - this loads a larger icon).

From:
        echo '
                <li id="button_', $act, '" class="button_', $act, (!empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' dropdown' : ''), ($button['active_button'] ? ' active' : ''), '">
                    <a ', (!empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false"' : ''), ' href="', $button['href'], '"', isset($button['target']) ? ' target="' . $button['target'] . '"' : '', '>
                                        <i class="fa fa-',$act,'"></i>&nbsp;
                        <span>', $button['title'], '</span>', !empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' ' :'', '
                        <span class="pull-right-container">
              <i class="fa fa-angle-left pull-right"></i>
            </span>
                    </a>';

To:
        echo '
                <li id="button_', $act, '" style="padding-right: 1px;" class="button_', $act, (!empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' dropdown' : ''), ($button['active_button'] ? ' active' : ''), '">
                    <a ', (!empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false"' : ''), ' href="', $button['href'], '"', isset($button['target']) ? ' target="' . $button['target'] . '"' : '', '>
                        <i class="fa fa-',$act,' fa-xl" style="vertical-align:middle; margin-right:10px;"></i>
                        <span style="vertical-align:middle;">', $button['title'], '</span>', !empty($button['sub_buttons']) ? ' ' : '', '
                        <span class="pull-right-container">
                <i class="fa fa-angle-left pull-right"></i>
            </span>
                    </a>';

There may also be some associated CSS changes but I don't have the time or tools to confirm this so I'm also attaching the custom CSS file I'm using with this theme - if you want to use it you'll need to copy it to the theme's css folder/directory and also load in index.template.php file after all the other CSS files are loaded.

I was pleased to see that Wide is now also available for version 2.1 and 2.1.1.

I have installed it and the " well-known" bug of the RC4 themes has indeed been eliminated.

Unfortunately, however, the theme is now totally unusable for me. A blank page appears for both "New topic" and "Reply". The editor apparently cannot be displayed. However, this cannot be a fundamental problem, because the editor is displayed correctly under posts for the quick reply.

What might be the reason for this? Is this a bug and is it already known?
