Title: Permission to new member so he can open new topic only in a specified category
Post by: famomamo on August 17, 2016, 03:40:48 PM
I want to divert new members to only one category, "Introduce yourself" for example, so only after writing their first message in that category, they would be able to open new topics in the rest of the forum.
How can I achieve this?

Thank you.

you would need a permission profile to do what you want. take a look at these pages and see if they help.

Actually, no...   permissions profiles are not what needs to be used here...

You need to set up the post count groups...
Give the zero post count group access to only the "introduce yourself" board and no access to any other board.
make sure the Regular Members group does not have access to any other board either.
Then make a post-count group for ONE post... and give that one (and all other post-count groups) access to everything that you want standard members to have
