Title: Multiple Domain
Post by: Ataru Moroboshi on November 03, 2016, 09:47:30 AM
I got a domain, biancocelesti.org, where my forum is setup and working from 6 years (started with SMF 2.0 RC3).

now i got another domain, biancocelesti.it.

i'd like to have both of them fully working on my forum, so that every single page would be accessible from two urls, e.g. http://www.biancocelesti.org/index.php/topic,xxx.0.html and http://www.biancocelesti.it/index.php/topic,xxx.0.html

is it possible? how?

first, you have that silly "sef" turned on which adds html to the end of the url...   that is basically useless

second... no....  You can have multiple domains (which are on the same server) provide different views (with the multi-domain mod) but quite honestly, what you are asking is poor form and will actually get you penalized in google.

Instead, what you should do is use .htaccess to automatically bounce a user who hits the .it URL to the .org url (or vice versa)

ok, so there's no way to make it work... i'd like to migrate from .org to .it but not drastically. google will fully index again from scratch my forum

Well, that's simple... just use repair settings .php to reset your urls
