An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again.

2 When I try and delete a post it comes up with about the same error but I can't remove the post at all no matter how many times I try

Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again.

This all ends the second I uninstall the mod can you help Im running 2.0.13 on all 4 forums and am using sunset 2.0.1.5 for a theme

Thanks
Glen

Hi this is great.  One problem we have is that we would like to hide this from guests and anyone not logged into the forum.  Is it possible to do that?

Looks like this is the answer to your question: Playing audio on iPad (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8179585/playing-audio-on-ipad).  For those too lazy to read the article, the relevant portion is quoted here:
Quote
In Safari on iOS (for all devices, including iPad), where the user may be on a cellular network and be charged per data unit, preload and autoplay are disabled. No data is loaded until the user initiates it. This means the JavaScript play() and load() methods are also inactive until the user initiates playback, unless the play() or load() method is triggered by user action. In other words, a user-initiated Play button works, but an onLoad="play()" event does not.
Since I don't have a iPhone or iPad (not an Apple fan), I can't test to see if this is the case.

No, this mod tends to be a global player for the website, not a single page type....

EDIT:  Let me stare at the code some....  There has to be a way....

This one works perfectly!!  It's playing on my board right now in another window.  You know the old saying, a woman is NEVER satisfied, right?   Well.. it's true!

I have one more request for this mod.
It would be nice if I could create song groups.  That is, songs for St. Pat's day, Patriotic, Christmas, New Years, Easter, Valentines, etc.  In each category, I could put songs related to that category, then when I change my board skin for the event, I could also select the song category to go with the theme.

For example, when I install my Christmas theme, I would like to select a list that played only Christmas songs.
When I install the St. Patrick's Day theme, would like to select only Irish music to be played.

Would be good if people could create their own categories and then put the music in the corresponding "folders" on the server.

Is this possible without a ton of work?
I'm looking into the feature request.  I would think attaching the music to a starting post would be easier, though....  Would that work?

There is a way to only see the player on the index Page?

Okey i am really excited about this mod but there is an error for me , it says this when i try to add track
Code: [Select]
Fatal error: Call to undefined function safe_serialize() in /home/nofaptur/public_html/Sources/Subs-SCMP_Admin.php on line 201
what i did was to find a  demo.mp3 file on internet and  copy paste  .mp3 link to the  song url part.  Was that wrong to do ?  It would be really helpfull if you be more specific about how to add songs . If this Works i will be super happy for my forum. I am waiting for your answer man

Hi

You have to upload a real track and not a link to it. On the setting page, see attachment below, you chose a music file from a location on your hard drive and then upload it.

I should add that the image is taken form my 2.1 test forum, as I have not installed it on live site it might look a bit different.

You also need to be running 2.0.13.

I was not aware that the safe_serialize function didn't exist before 2.0.12 (at least I think that statement is true, it might have existed earlier, but not by much).  I've changed the code to use the older serialize function if the safe_serialize function isn't available.

What you did is perfectly legit.

You have to upload a real track and not a link to it. On the setting page, see attachment below, you chose a music file from a location on your hard drive and then upload it.
While it is true that the mp3 file must be uploaded SOMEWHERE, it is not necessary that it be on the server that hosts your forum.  Be aware that the mp3 file just might disappear from other people's server and break your player.....

I should add that the image is taken form my 2.1 test forum, as I have not installed it on live site it might look a bit different.
It shouldn't make a difference on whether it is a live site or not.  It should look the same, even across the SMF 2.1 Beta and SMF 2.0.x lines....

Hello,

Your mod is perfect. Its working fit n fine. But i have another idea in my mind. I am trying my best to make it possible. But i am not a pro in css/php. I need your help in it.

I have added a top bar in forum with button " about us ". I want to add a voice clip in that button. I mean, whenever someone will click that button, He'll hear the voice information. Which will tell about our forum.
Confusion is, How can i add that sound on the click of the button ? And it must not redirect to any other page. Just it'll play audio on the same page. Same as your mod. But its a bit different. I'll be glad if any of you'll give solution to it.

Thanks!

Maybe you can use   http://vocaroo.com/?upload  ,  after uploading there is a option for embedding.  i think it is very small  ,

other option is that:
when you click that button  scm player will start playing whatever song you want. we need to create link between scm and button.

1stly, have a look at what i have made. -> http://vcdw-vcmp.base.pk/ <-
There you'll find "about us" button on the top. I have placed a sample audio script for now. Just for testing purpose. When i click it, It redirects me to that audio. But i don't want this. As you that the 2nd option. When i click it, SCM player will start automatically, that's what i want. Whenever someones click it, SCM player should appear and start that voice in a new window. And member will also be able to shut that SCM player. with the close " x " button. But there isn't any such button. I want it.

To do this with SCM Media Player would not be easy, and is beyond the scope of this mod!  You would need to write some Javascript that (1) sets the playlist, (2) sets the skin to something non-hidden, and (3) starts the playlist.  You would need to attach that Javascript to a <a href html tag.  Likewise, in order to close it, you would need to write some more Javascript to (1) stop the playlist and (2) set the skin to something hidden.

@Beowulf1976:  First, I apologize for not responding to your bug report in a timely manner.  Other projects, life, and a computer crash have all prevented me from dealing with mods for the past few weeks.  But I think most of it is behind me and I can start to deal with problems with my mods again....  (Particularly 2.1 Beta 3....  23 mods need fixing!  Ugh!)

Second, I've installed it on a clean 2.0.14 and I can confirm the bug report.  I'm a bit confused about why it is happening, but I'll try to figure it out soon!

why can't i save that ticked check box ?

Uploaded v1.7 - August 18th, 2017
o Fixed issue where enabling the player apparently didn't take.
o Added source files to SCM Music Player to mod.
o Mod now pulls SCM Music Player from the forum folder.

@aegersz:  Not a problem about getting back to me.  I'm glad that you are alive and well, man!

I installed Chrome on my computer and the SCM Music Player didn't start up for me in Chrome, either.  It works fine on FireFox and IE.  So I downloaded a copy of SCM Music Player and included it in the mod, and modified the code to reference the local copy instead of the remote copy that I was using.  It works now on Chrome....  Go figure....

The unfortunate side effect of adding the code for SCM Music Player to the mod is that the mod went from like 10kb to 550+kb...

still no joy.

I can't uncheck boxes (options don't save).

tried Firefox and Chrome and still no sign of a player.

i even tried it all on my vanilla system.

Hey, it started working when one of my backup sites was rebuilt and i hadn't set the https directories in with repair_settings.php (was using port 8080 as i have a proxy on that box too).

l removed SSL from one of my spare systems and she plays like a dream ... but i need SSL so that's not an option.

when you have some time, please Mr. Dougie  ... can we make it SSL compatible ?

that's exactly what i thought.

BUT , i love it, however it (autoplay) plays for guests and for everybody ? despite the settings ... any ideas ?

is that what autoplay means ?
Title: Re: SCM Music Player for SMF
Post by: dougiefresh on August 19, 2017, 09:16:30 PM
One of the problems I noticed during my testing of the mod is the need to hard refresh (CTRL-F5 on PCs, not sure about other platforms) the page when I tested the options.  Doing so reloads the entire page, including the player, and launches the player with the new settings....

Autoplay starts the player automatically at first page load.  So, a user visits your website and the option for autoplay is on, then your visitor hears music without pressing anything.  Turning that setting off in the admin UI does not STOP the player, though!  Any players still running with continue running until the page is closed or the player is manually stopped.  All music players will be stopped if the mod is disabled.....  BUT the player is still loaded in the browser memory due to the utilization of frames in order to show the music player apart from the actual forum page....  Only a hard refresh will get rid of it that way....

sorry to bother ... one more thing, i lose my SA Chat bar when the player is enabled - any way around that ?

a hide/collapse block feature would get around it as i use the Hide Blocks to workaround it but i have to force a reload.

hey, i'm still stoked !

Let me look at the coding again.  There has to be a way to fix this....

sorry to bother ... one more thing, i lose my SA Chat bar when the player is enabled - any way around that ?
I can confirm this bug report.  Is there anything I can do about it?  Unknown.....

a hide/collapse block feature would get around it as i use the Hide Blocks to workaround it but i have to force a reload.
Please explain....  I can't find a "Hide Blocks" option in the SA Chat mod.

it still hasn't started working on my mobile phone and I have 4 browsers on it.

It probably isn't mobile-friendly, and fixing that is something that is well beyond my expertise.....

no problem. the collapse thing might just be a way I could temporarily disable the player with one click like you can do with seeing your avatar etc.

that way we don't have to do a hard refresh to disable the player as one moves around the app blocks.

but I'm happy with it so I won't bother you further. thanks for all your help and I must get back to the audio attachment player issue at some point.

Hi ; can you explain me how can i use the musics in my own hosts? I can succesfully add .mp3 files from internet. But most of the upload sites are not providing direct and stabil link to the mp3. So that is a problem . They might be deleted or might be low quality. To solve this i want to use the mp3 files which i host them on my server. But what should i write to  song url part?

Well, if your forum is at http://www.duh.com/board/, and you have a directory underneath called music, then you would use http://www.duh.com/board/music/{mp3_filename}.mp3 (where {mp3_filename} is the name(s) of the mp3 file(s) you want to play from your server.  Note that most Unix-based servers are CASE SENSITIVE, meaning Blah.mp3 is different from blah.mp3 and Blah.MP3.  Windows-based servers really don't care that much....

Good question.  I've got most of the "underbody" support built in the mod.  I just need to complete the GUI for making multiple playlists, and I'm having trouble trying to get things done lately....  Also, the "underbody" might change, depending on how the GUI develops....

Uploaded v2.0 - February 28th, 2018
o Added ability to add multiple playlists.
o Admin can choose which playlist gets played by every user.

@Everybody:  I've tried to test this new version out throughly, however, I may have missed something.  Please let me know if you run into any issues!  Thanks!

where did you learn to code like this?
First, the SCM Music Player isn't my creation.  I've just written up some PHP code to integrate the music player into the forum, and control the options avaiable through the Javascript code.  Tried to make it look pretty, functional, and whatever else is required....

Second, I've come by most of my programming skills on my own.  I attended Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and tried to get a degree in computer science, but dammit, college is BORING!!!  Yup, my attention span is not so good...  O:)   So I dropped out.

Third, I have to give credit to Simple Machines Forum's Customization Team.  They really helped me to understand that it isn't just whether the code works, but whether others can read it and understand the code.  They've helped me learn data sanitation techniques and better coding methods.  So a big shoutout to the Customization Team!!!  Thanks!

Thanks!
{snip}

i feel ya, i could do with a complete sanitaztion myself  :o

i have never felt the need to look at your code because i never questioned it nor have had to.

please write lots of comments

at least i have managed to fix every mod conflict, right ?

it was nice of you to give credit where  it's due. none of us are alone in this.

Uploaded v2.1 - March 15th, 2018
o Fixed issue involving selecting playlists other than number 0 (the default).

@nofapturkiye:  It wasn't your imagination...  The code checked for the save parameter in the POST stuff, not the GET stuff....  (Sigh)  Stupid mistakes....  It's been fixed for this version!  Thank you!

I reproduced this bug report.  Also doesn't seem to save the song list correctly, either...

There are no references to that web address in my mod, so no, I don't have any idea what that's about.....

UPDATE:  A internal restructuring of the code seems to be in order.....

I have no idea....  I kinda doubt it, though.  Maybe you could try it and report back?  O:)

I think this is the site I was getting them from. I think.

https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/page?page=states

iHeartRadio appears to require an iframe in order to play the content, and is not a music file that this mod would be able to use.  It would require a custom mod to be written in order to make use of the iHeartRadio station....

Would it play something like this:

http://www.country1049.ca/

Click on listen live in the top left

That's to bad. I had a mod awhile ago from a member of an old site titled SMF Radio. It worked great. This is going back 10 years though I think. Live streaming radio would be cool again.

Okay, I'm on my computer now.  I looked at the website player that you specified and found a link to the music stream.  It is this:
Code: [Select]
http://bayshore.leanstream.co/CHWCFM-MP3?args=web_02Inserting the stream link into the SCM player works.  Unlikely that the mod would ever be able to properly list the song being played, though....

So, this means that if you can locate the streaming link for the site, you can use this mod to play music from that site....  Hope this helps...

UPDATE:  On another note, I've been looking into the Javascript this mod uses for the music player and I think I understand how the script being called works, at least enough to use one of the streaming radio links from radio-locator.com....  Maybe I'll create yet another mod....
