Hello!
We've been having an issue where, if text is pasted into our forum (2.0.13), the format changes and is wrapped with:
[font=verdana][size=2px][/size][/font]
I've searched our code (theme BlackOps) and I cannot tell where it is coming from.
That would still leave you the option in this instance earn a possible additional +15XP.
[font=verdana][size=2px]
- Back-pay and donate for September [/size][/font][font=verdana][size=2px] - Back pay and donate for January[/size][/font][font=verdana][size=2px] - Back donate for February
But, since this has been a mess, I'm going to keep the pop date at 07/02/17 unless you have to miss an event going forward.
Does that make sense?[/size][/font]
I presume that should have been surrounded by quote tags and not code tags.
It's pretty hard for anyone to diagnose it without the relevant code...
No doubt someone who knows what they are doing will be along to suggest what files might need to be examined.
Have a quick read here : http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=228939.0 as a guide to what info can be helpful to people in assisting you with this type of query. Cheers.
Not really. It's being copied from a web page and pasted into the WYSIWYG editor which tries to match the original format.
Suggest posting it into Notepad first, or right click and use the browser option to paste as plain text (if your browser has it)
Simple as that? I've never experienced that before so assumed it was more complex... :)
There is a reason the WYSIWYG editor was completely replaced in 2.1, namely because half of the team at one point started referring to 2.0's editor as WYSIWTF.
ROFLMAO - I love it.
I remember when the term WYSIWYG first started being used about 30 years ago and even back then we referred to it as SWYSIWYG (sometimes what you see it what you get) ...

I put it in code as each time I put it in quotes it would take the relevant code and translate it as it is BBC code.

Thanks - that was my first thought and suggestion as well. However, I have been able to replicate it when pasting it from Notepad++, textpad, and notepad as well. While I do agree it is a WISWYG issue - it is ALWAYS the same formatting of "[ font=verdana ][ size=2px ]".
Some things I've done:
1. Copied from Word, pasted into Notepad++, paste into forum. Everything looks a-ok until I hit delete or backspace and the font changes. Only - it looks normal to me until I hit post.
2. typed ONLY in Notepad++, paste into forum. Again, everything looks normal to me until I hit post.
3. Type in forum only....no problems.
disable the WYSIWYG editor and the issue will go away.
I did that this morning. It is a stop gap, but will work until I can find the reason why.
the reason is because that editor does NOT work.
After a member complained about this issue and it couldn't be verified by others using the same browser, it was discovered that WYSIWYG was checked in "Look and Layout' in their forum profile. After unchecking that, the issue was solved.
Administration Center >> Posts and Topics >> Post Settings >> Disable WYSIWYG editor
Problem solved. For everyone. ;)
