Title: need help recovering skinwalkerranch.org form
Post by: hiii98 on September 14, 2017, 01:05:59 PM
I am on a Godaddy Server, my forum suddenly broke.  I cannot recover it i'm not sure what happened.  I need direct help recovering the SMF forum on my site and getting it to work.

Godaddy server, shared hosting? Very problematic. What exactly happened? If you installed something then it broke then that's the problem. If you are getting connection screen issues then that's the host.

Please clarify what you mean by direct help.  Do you want someone to be given access to your forum and to actually do this for you or do you want someone explain to you how to do it yourself?

Check the entries for DB Name, DB User and DB Password in your Settings.php file. From what I can see, your DB Name and DB User are the same and that doesn't look right.

posted verbatim from Godaddy regarding the server "Your database and usernames are the same so you can grant access to a single database with one username."

Not to get sidetracked but do you still have repair_settings.php on your website? If so, and you're done with it, you need to remove it.
