Title: is simple machines usable by blind users?
Post by: miekeh on October 25, 2017, 09:37:58 AM
Hello,

I hope I am posting in the right topic. I manage an education website. They are presently using a forum that does not support jaws, a screenreader for the blind. Now they are expecting a group of blind students soon and are looking for another forum. So my question is if simple machines supports the jaws screen reader.

Sincerely,

Mieke Haveman

One of our forum owners, noeyes (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;u=246081), is blind and uses a screenreader to manage his forum.  You can pm him, if he responds he should be able to answers any questions you have.

I know our SMF forum has some blind users.   Navigating the forum has not been raised as an issue; navigating some of the vendor technical literature we cover, however, has been.

i do hope you are planning on using SMF 2.0, as SMF 1.1 is basically unsupported at this time.

Marking solved then. If you have any other questions regarding this topic, by all means, mark this unsolved and let us know. :)
