Title: Don't allow users to send mails via SMF
Post by: FractalFrank on January 09, 2018, 02:51:11 AM
Hi!
I've just stumbled upon this problem (SMF 2.0.15)
Whenever you click on the email-button in a user profile it leads to a page where you can send an email to the user using smf.
In our old SMF 1.x installation this button only opened the users own email software - which we prefer.
How can we get that old behaviour back? I can't find the setting anywhere.
Any help appreciated!

Cheers,
Frank

admin -> security and moderation allow viewable email addresses, but we really do not recommend enabling this feature for security of your members.

yes, the form within SMF keeps the users' email addresses safe from harvesting.
