The REPLY button simply add the reply at the end of the discussion.
to REPLY INDIVIDUAL POST in a discussion, there is QUOTE
but to REPLY MULTIPLE INDIVIDUAL POST in a discussion, there should be a MULTI QUOTE
For example: sometimes I am not answering the main topic but the 2 specific posts in the thread..
There already is a multiquote function. Click 'Reply' and the scroll down to the posts you want to reply to and click 'Insert Quote' at the right hand side.

yes thats what i was looking for . thank you very much
however it could be a bit more intuitive or may be i am getting too old for this new CMS layouts :)
