I don't know what to do..... I'm wanting to download smf but i don't know which files to download.... Do I download all three files shown in each group..... or what? I feel dumb....
Do you want the latest stable version (1.0.5) or the latest version (1.1 RC1)? 1.0.5 is stable.
1.1 RC1 is fun, but might have some bugs.
I don't know.... what one would you recommend? I'm new to all this 'fancy' stuff... lol
I downloaded the first file available.... but I don't understand the files to open... I tried to open the install file but it wouldn't open. Now that I downloaded it.... what do I do?
Extract the package to you harddisk, upload all files to your webserver and run install.php:
http://www.yoursite.com/install.php
You probably need to create a database first.
