Otsikko: limiting sigs
Kirjoitti: SleePy - marraskuu 10, 2005, 12:50:47 AP
some of our users have gone way out of hand with images. and causing pages to load so.
so is there a way to limit how much kb an image is taking in the sig
is there also a way to limit the height and width of a sig?
i think there might be an option but i have yet to find it.

Also, I believe there are some things about signatures in the Tips and Tricks (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=72.0) board. You might want to check that out.

ok i found it but somebody just pointed out to me limiting the size of the signature will not stop it from loading everything in it. so the page will look nicer but still be loading all the images.
is there a way when the img tag is used to go to the url and find the size of the image and count it up to see if it passes a limit that can be set?

That will changes the img tag from a simple parsing to some complicated operation, potentially causing more problem then it solves.  Talking with that member is perhaps the easiest and best solution.

If everything fails, you can always disable signatures by default.

or you could just disable images in sigs altogether.
