Title: Is there a way to convert some things to images?
Post by: hiennhan12 on January 14, 2019, 09:44:01 PM
If a user uploads a power point presentation, word document, or pdf...is there something I can use to make these into images? Even if only one of them does it I'd like to know.

Can a GD module do that? Not that I could really use that information but I am curious about what it does beyond resizing images :-X.

Nothing built in. Word can save as pdf in new versions and sometimes you can do pdf to image.

You would probably have to find a script for each.

And guaranteed it won't be reliable. Word, Excel and PowerPoint are notorious for this, even assuming you have the right fonts available to render them.

PDF is less bad, ImageMagick with GhostScript can handle this but doubtful it's on a shared server.
