Title: Editing post by admin
Post by: forummachines on January 19, 2019, 05:49:33 AM
Hello,

Is there a possibility to edit an old post as an administrator?

Not to be notified on the post: "last modified: ...."

the edit by/on is either ON for everything or OFF for everything.

There was a mod that hid it, if the edit was by an admin....   but that's a BAD idea, IMO. It reeks of secret edits.

Can I include that when the administrator edits, that is not visible?

I've never understood the need to lie to users on a forum about editing posts...

Me neither, and it was a thing in the first forum I participated. The admins just used it to mess with people or to be sneaky. I've come across a valid reason once, and it wasn't about editing anything as much as it was about fixing what a forum conversion broke...
