Ok had a quick search (albeit very brief) but is it possible to set a specific finish date / time for a poll.
Why not just create one and observe the options presented?

Yes but instead of finishing after X days, would like to set a specific date & time. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but would be a nice touch.
Reason I ask I use polls for predicting football match results so would be good for the poll to end at the start time of the game, instead of the time I create the poll.
Specific date and time is complicated: which time zone is it in?

UK - GMT.
Is that what every member of the forum is in? (This is just one illustration of why this is so much more difficult than people think it is and why it hasn't been done as a mod)
Yes the majority of members are UK based but of course not everyone.
Just to explain a little further, if a match starts on a Saturday afternoon at 15:00 (UK time) this is when I would like the poll to end. i.e. no voting once the game has started.
To be honest, I can live with the number of days option, but just putting it out there if it was feasible.
That's kind of the problem, it is hugely difficult.
