Help! I did a booboo and cannot access my forum! All was going just fine until someone mentioned that the "Like" button stopped working. I had installed LikePost2.0.5 some time ago without any problems. It stopped working one other time so I just uninstalled it and re-installed and once again all was fine.
Today, I uninstalled it, hoping to get the same results as before... reinstall but now, the only thing visible is my background and banner. No index, no nothing. I don't have any idea what I need to do to get back to where I was.
I cannot log in because I'm already logged in. Tried it using another browser, got the login screen, but only got the background and banner. I think I need HELP! What can I do to get my forum back?
do you have a backup of the files?
Unfortunatley, I do not. I didn't think uninstalling something would cause such a problem.

I can see and access your entire forum now. Can you try clearing your browser's cache?
Also, it's possible your host does daily back ups and if you ever need a back up, you can reach out to them. Just know they may charge you a fee and there is no guarantee their back up is recent. They could back up once a week or month
OH my gosh, you're right... it's all there! I did empty the cache on Chrome. Got the same results. So, tried Edge and FireFox. All gave me the same results. Since I put up that theme for Valentine's day, I wouldn't have thought it would be in the FF or the Edge cache since I haven't used either of them in months.
So, I loaded up CCleaner and cleaned house, rebooted, and when I came back, sure enough, my forum was all there! Thanks for letting me know!!
I am sure my host, which I've had for the last 11 years has backups and they don't charge me to do that. Some years back, I had to do a restore.
So now, I'm going looking for that "like" button again because my users love it! Thanks for the HELP!! Seriously, I always feel better when I KNOW I can get help here if I need it, and even if I don't need it! Thanks for being there.
Hey, MaryLou. I have admin access at http://pirc-forum.com/index.php/theme=1, but your default theme, StValPink, is broken.
OH! Apparently, all my custom themes are broken? I never use the one I see there now. I wanted to switch back to PIRC Blues but now, I'm afraid to do it! Any suggestion? Sure glad you were able to get in because I couldn't!
Do I dare install the Like Mod again? That's the one that I uninstalled when everything went bad. How did you get to the default blue screen? I couldn't even log in because I was already logged in.
Switched to PIRC Blues, looks ok. You can get in with link in my previous post if theme is broken, it will load into Curve.

Since my valentine theme isn't working, I am wondering if my other holiday themes will work? I copied the link you gave me and put it in a safe place just in case!!

It didn't uninstall cleanly, left some code in index.template.php in a couple of themes I looked at, possibly in other files. Reinstall crashed the forum probably because it added duplicate code. Would have to manually remove remnant code from all files. You have ver. 2.0.5, current version is 2.1.2, don't know if code is the same. You could ask vbgamer in mod support topic -

Finally! All is as it should be! I found the later version of the Like button, deleted the file from the server for the old one then installed the newer version. That works perfectly. And.. to my surprise, so do ALL of my themes, even the Valentine one!
I don't like to mess with the code. I'm just lucky that I've been able to keep this forum up and running for the last 15 years! Of course, I did have a lot of help from you guys here - you're always so willing to help which gives me the confidence to play with the little things like installing mods and changing colors. It's funny how installing the Like mod again fixed everything.
