Title: Forum only showing secure content.
Post by: gavingroth on April 10, 2019, 09:43:04 AM
Hello,
I recently got a SSL Certificate for my website and everything was working fine, including the forum.
One day however I was looking through the forum settings and I clicked on "server settings" > "database and paths" I did not change 1 single thing on this page, as I had no reason to. But I accidentally clicked save instead of close, theoretically that should not have done anything to alter the forum page. But as soon as I refreshed I'm only seeing the basic html layout of the page, along with a indicator in the top right search bar saying "only secure content will be shown" obviously if I click show insecure content the page goes back to the normal forum, but it is not secure. I'm wondering what caused this and how can I fix it?
for reference my website is: stormcrave.us
thanks in advance,
-Gavin

Your forum seems fine to me.

Anyways, it looks like some paths might have been changed. If it happens again, you can use the repair_settings.php file to straighten/correct them.

Yes, I just fixed it. Did a little research and installed repair_settings.php it should be said that it took a bit for the changes from the repair to take place. (at least for me) But otherwise everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks for the advice anyway

if it's taking a little while - then your host is using some sort of caching system - like varnish -- which is known to cause issues
