Title: post counts wrong
Post by: bynw on April 16, 2019, 03:40:00 PM

hello,

I've noticed a oddity when looking at post counts. it was brought to my attention by one of my users. when viewing any post there is the users profile info to the left with a post count. a user reported that that number hasnt changed in several months and they had made a number of posts. does it not count every post? or does it only count first posts but not replies or how does it actually count.

my own profile on the same forum shows me having 267 posts. but if i goto my profile and profile info and show posts topic i have 309 and show posts messages i have 1051.

what is it counting or not counting and why

It depends on the individual board settings....  boards can be set to NOT include posts in the post-count (like our chit-chat board on this site)

Post count showing in posts (left under avatar) should always match post count in profile summary \ stats (whatever the count setting of any individual board). If they don't match I'd say there is 'something' going on.

Profile 'Show Posts' will (obviously) show all posts incl. those made in non post counting boards.

Check boards where posts should increase post count (Modifiy Boards > Count Posts checked. Remember to click 'Modify' if changed).
