Title: "New User Introduction" board - good idea / bad idea ?
Post by: AlanDewey on June 26, 2019, 08:35:38 AM
I am contemplating to add a board for "introductions" where newly registered users would post something about why they are there.

I have seen this on other forums.  Some get a lot of posts.  Some get very few.  One negative aspect of creating a board for introductions is that I would have to allow users with 0 posts to be able to start a new topic.

An alternative is that I could just create a topic for introductions and get people to reply to it.

Please tell me your thoughts about this.

Thank you.

Introduction boards are a great way to know your membership and weed out spammers specially when it is a mandatory part of the registration process.
