Ive downloaded SMF 2.0.15 and was expecting to get an admin page of sorts where i could make changes to my forum (I used to build ecommerce sites years ago)
Didnt expect to see virtually blank screen and not sure what to do.

Can I ask you, if I look at the site as notthenoobs.com I get a plain white screen with a bit of text. I need to click on 'forum' to get the proper site.
Is that normal, or have i missed something?
You put the forum in a folder called forum, not in the public_html folder directly.
Move all the files the use repair_settings.php to fix all the paths. What is repair_settings.php? (https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php)

went to log on and get a timed out message "Your session timed out while posting"
