I want to create a new site and would like it to have a page for each state with it's own shoutbox, calendar and forum. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? Using ver 2.0.15 and Simple Portal (don't remember the version, but it is the latest one)
Yes it is possible. Unless you really need to have separate membership and options then I will try to keep it down to one SMF installation and just use each Board as a state or you will have a lot of administrative work.

you can have a board per state.
Adding a different shoutbox for each state will kill the server -- if it's even possible.
SMF does not support multiple calendars.
