Otsikko: My Forum in Maintenance mode
Kirjoitti: bukharifaran - lokakuu 31, 2019, 06:19:00 AP
I have moved my mobile forum from one hosting account to another account. (Same hosting provider but different account).

I have deleted one ZIP file from the file manager and don't remember the file name. After that, I am getting this error:

Maintenance Mode
Okay faithful users...we're attempting to restore an older backup of the database...news will be posted once we're back!

This is my forum link: https://www.mobilefun.pk/forum/

Kindly let me know what to do from here?

Just to be clear, you didn't just move the files, but also migrated (exported, imported) the database (or are still using the same DB server)?

Yes, I have exported the database file as well.
But I don't know if I need to edit any file like we edit wp-config.php file while moving WordPress site to provide new database name and username. If I need to edit any file, kindly let me know the file name.

I have no experience migrating a forum... Did you set it to maintenance mode before the migration?

Or is $maintenance in Settings.php set to anything but "0"?

Basically this. In the file Settings.php there's a variable called $maintenance that accepts 3 values: 0 is for no maintenace, 1 is for normal maintenace and 2 is for maintenance without forum access. Just set this value to either 0 or 1 and save the file (reupload if needed).

Thank you. It worked. But don'w know how the value set to 2?  I didn't do that.

Anyhow, now it is live again after setting the value to '0'.

It was set on his own and I believe it's the expected behaviour to avoid malicious attacks.

Glad to hear it. (I've moved the topic, because your forum is running SMF 2.0.15, not 2.1 ;))

The upgrade script sets it to 2 normally.

Yes, but OP didn't mention anything related to upgrade process. He said he just deleted a file, that's why I wasn't sure why it was set to 2.

I didn't try to upgrade. But I guess the file that I deleted was related to the SMF upgrade.
