Title: a.t.m.a.
Post by: m4z on November 12, 2019, 01:40:29 PM
I don't know what causes this, but when I post the string "a t m a" without the spaces, the forum replaces it with a capital "i".

Batman

Why do you hate the "world's greatest detective"? ;)

I don't get it, even within words? How was it abused, is it a swear word in some language?

do a search for the term on this forum.

I think the team could consider a review over the words in the censor, but it is not high priority at this time.

Within words or not within words is all or nothing, so you tend to want it on.

But the user in question spent a significant amount of effort speaking in the third person and generally annoying the heck out of everyone with veering into threads to "help". If it had been anyone else you'd have sworn it was a super persistent troll but he actually seemed sincere. Just annoying.

Hmm, I still don't understand what these four letters mean. Is it related to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%80tman_(Hinduism)?

They were the user name that the aforementioned user took while writing his posts, "Atma believes..." or similar would be written in them. Whether the name has any significance beyond the user's choice is unknown, but probable.

If I started mass trolling and writing "Arantor says..." in every post I could imagine the team censoring "Arantor" in short order, despite having no meaning in any language or culture as far as I am aware.

He had many names, fairly sure Atma was one of them even though he's now using the name of his site.
