Otsikko: Post install tasks
Kirjoitti: JDR - maaliskuu 12, 2020, 05:40:25 AP
Hi,

I have just installed 2-0-17.

The installation went smoothly, at the end 2 thing occurred:

1) An option with a tick box was presented asking if I wanted to remove the install files - It did warn however that ticking the box may not remove the files. So my question is - which ones are the install files so I can check if the files were indeed deleted.

2) At the end of the install the message, "Your installation directory is still writable. It's a good idea to chmod it so that it is not writable for security reasons." was displayed. I read elsware on the forum "SMF will work well with settings of 755 for directories and 644 for files -- on most webservers" - how exactly does one go about doing the actual chmod? and I assume these recommended settings will address the 'writable' installation directory warning that was displayed?

Thanks in advance,

JDR

Install.php and any .SQL files

Chmod is done through your host file manager or ftp
