Title: Upgrade went wrong setting.php overwritten

Hello ,
Will need help as the upgrade to my forum went haywire , had downloaded full smf install and overwrite setting.php . Trying with host if backup is available , but no luck

Can someone help  , even paid service is fine

Sure, all that needs to happen is to edit the settings.php and include your database connection information to your SMF database.

You can enter all the db and the other details again to the Settings.php file. What about the Settings.bak.php file btw? Is it intact? If it is rename it to Settings.php and see if it would help.

If it's truly non-recoverable, there are many ways to go about this.

I'd either use the _bak version or, if that's useless, get a "blank" one from the installer, then use repair_settings.
