My SMF board is down after getting a number of SMF messages that could not connect to the database -My host has informed me that there has been a change to the Index.PHP file which is preventing it from connecting to the database.
It is the same problem as mentioned in
https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=573031.0
I have used the repair_setting.php as stated in the advice... but the problem is I can't get my database setting into repair_setting.php once uploading and activating it -
The form that comes asking for the my critical SQL Database info doesn't seem to work when you hit SAVE SETTINGS.
I hit Save setting on the form and the settings disappear and this message appears
Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /home.........public_html/forum/repair_settings.php on line 1017
I have rang the host and the setting entered seem okay...Is there a problem with the repair_setting.php process...
My Forum is about 3years old – Work fine till now - I have no backup nor have I upgraded it in that time.
How about I run an update to the latest version could that fix an empty settings.php??
You can grab a a Settings.php file from the zip from SMF. then make the edits to that file
Sorry
Where do I go to get a Settings.php file from the zip from SMF.
(been just going to DOWNLOADs TOOLs to get the Repair_Settings.php).. thanks
From this page https://download.simplemachines.org/
Yes that changed things...
New Error - see below - but I will have another go at it in the morning - I do feel I know what I am doing now.. Thanks
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
have you entered the inforation into the new settings.php? You can do this manually or through repair_settings.php
