Title: Unicode emojis not showing and language issues.
Post by: eresaru on July 01, 2020, 01:08:50 AM
Hi everyone,

I have been tasked with tidying up our forum that has been running pretty much unsupported for a long time. I have had a long list of issues that by searching here I have found answers to (thank you everyone!).
However, there is one issue I still have and cannot find anything about.
All emojis posted through Tapatalk show up as [emojiXXXX] on browsers.
Now, following some advice in different threads here, I have checked the language options and the default language is set to UTF-8. I also ran the convert ISO to UTF function on the database with no result.
Looking around the languages, I can see that the language pack installed is old (2.0 RC5). This brings me to the other issue I have. I am trying to install the latest pack, but unfortunately I get the error that the SMF website is down, which I know its not because I actually followed the code and tried the URL and managed to download the pack.

I am on 2.0.17. Thanks for everything!

Sounds like the tapatalk mod is not completely installed.

The emoji tags tapatalk replaces with their emoji images.

Thank you for the prompt reply mate!

So, should I remove and install the tapatalk package again?

Re-installing the Tapatalk plugin, fixed it.
Thank you very much.
