Yesterday, while doing a test upgrade on my test forum (Uninstalling Tiny Portal to update to latest version), that action had a catastrophic impact on the main site. I'm guessing that somewhere on the test site, there was a link to the main site but that is not the question.
I have now rebuilt the main site from backups and everything is working as it should - Posts, events, personal messages etc all working fine. What isn't working is the link to attachments in users posts. The attachments are there in the attachments directory, the mySQL database shows all the post id with attachments, the posts show that there is a link to an attachment name but the link is not there and the attachments can not be seen.
Any ideas about where I start to retrieve the links?
did you use repair_settings.php?
Yes, I ran repair_settings. All the URLs are correct.
The separate directory for uploaded avatars is working - everything is there apart from the links in user posts.
