Title: Member connected in maintenance mode
Post by: grandseb59 on August 05, 2020, 04:33:41 PM
Hello,
I'm setting up a new version of my forum, I'm in "maintenance mode", and I see a member (without the rank of administrator) appearing in the "online" block.
How come?
I tried to log in with my test account, I can't (normal).
I see in the error log the hundreds of people who try to log in but can't (normal).
But here........ I don't understand anything anymore.

Has this ever happened to you before?

Assuming you have not been hacked - from my experience sometimes it picks them up as doing some 'action' when its not really so.

I think it just means the user accessed that particular URL directly (and then saw nothing but the maintenance message). Or the user could have accessed that URL shortly before you started the maintenance.

I've been in maintenance mode for 24 hours, so we can rule out the possibility that she logged on when I went into maintenance mode.
A priori... according to the actions of the online member block, this member did not leave the home page.
Just in case, I banned him temporarily.
Otherwise, if we've been hacked... where can we see it on the server?
Apart from one exploit where the hacker leaves us his signature on the homepage.

no no no no no

you were not hacked.

the Who's Online list should never be used to try to track what a user is doing or seeing.
The who's Online list ONLY displays the data based on the URL the user has attempted to view.    If the user does not have the permission to view the contents of that URL (becuase of permissions or maintenance mode) then the user will see the "need to login" or other "not permitted" message regardless of what the Who's Online list shows....

Haaa okay,
Thank you very much for the clarification, at least now it's clearer.
In the future I won't worry about it anymore.
