Title: Attachment directory not writeable
Post by: jdgretz on August 31, 2020, 11:13:06 PM
I testing, I'm getting this error message

An Error Has Occurred!
The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

The directory /domain/forum/attachments is showing 777 for permissions.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

jdg

777 is not allowed on some servers for security reasons.  Dirs/files should be 755/644.

Maybe you should also try with 775.
Also, make sure that your attachment directory path is correct (check that with repair_settings.php file)

You get the same message when it doesn't exist...

Double check all attachment, avatar, & custom avatar folder settings.  repair_settings.php might help.

Double checked and reset all folders to 755, files are 644.

Can't find repair_settings.php on the server or in the files from the smf_2-0-17_install.zip
