That doesn't sound. Must like you are on PHP 7.4 or higher

I would suggest either downgrading php or using SMF 2.1 RC3

Um, don't think we're talking about same thing.  3.3.2 is a phpBB version.  Which PHP version is your server running?

SMF 2.0.x does not currently support PHP 8.0.1 at this time. You may have better luck on SMF 2.1 RC3

Or if you want to use SMF 2.0.x you must downgrade to PHP 7.3
