Trying to change my birthdate in Forum Profile but no matter what I change it to it stays 0001-01-01 :(
Using SMF 2.0.18
Bug dept :) New entries not saved, reverts to whatever was there initially.
Yep. Confirmed.
2.0.19 next week? :D
Internal log #213
For those who are impacted by this, the attached patch should help. It's what I'm using on my site.
This is not an SMF-supported patch. I am just sharing the fix I am using. If this is addressed in a future 2.0.x release, this will need to be uninstalled before applying the patch for that release.
Hope this helps,
Just gave it a quick run on a 2.0.18 test site, and I'm getting three failed tests on Profile-Modify.php. The test site has a few mods on it, but nothing that touches that file AFAIK.
ETA: Oh bugger. That test site is still 2.0.17. Hang on while I update it. :P
ETA2: Ok, works now. :D
Thanks for the patch...worked great! :)
The patch working perfect, thank you and best regards from México
Much Thanks
Works now.

I'm having the same issue. I put a birthday, save, but it reverts to what it was before. 2.0.17 was working though :(

It's a temporary fix, might be addressed in the future included in an official patch.

After being a member here for 13 years you should know that official patches aren't released for one issue unless it's a major security one, which this clearly is not. ;)
A release is a lot of work, so it won't be done for a single non-critical issue.
Plus, the current development focus is on v2.1

Maybe this is obvious but how does one actually run these scripts? I only know enough to be dangerous. Actually the average age of my members is 70+ so nobody probably is going to put in their birthdates anyway. I was poking around the code to see if I could somehow just comment out the rendering of the "BirthDate:" But it was all above my paygrade
In Admin>Package Manager>Download Packages
Scroll down to "Upload a Package" and upload the package then click "Install" all done! ;)
Easily done and works.
Thanks to GL700Wing (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=579055.msg4098610#msg4098610) for pointing out this topic with the fix.

This is already fixed in SMF 2.0.19 (the latest release), so you shouldn't require to install this fix anymore, just update your forum!
