I just noticed in the admin section on 2.0.18 where you change the permissions for global moderator it has "Moderate forum members" twice under Member administration. I know the first one is for registration and all that and the the second is for posts and topics. Just pointing it out! ;)
not seeing that on my forums....maybe a mod you installed?
Can you click for both on ? so we can see info, but it definitely looks like a mod, just copy text and paste here, separate them if different info inside.
2nd thing, create a new membergroup, give it just the most basic post permission and test it first with #1 option, then with #2 option and that will show you if there is a difference. On my forum Moderate forum members is first on the list in permissions so it should be original. To test see if you have additional access and what, focus on other forum member, you should be able to use track user option and similar.
The first one says:
This permission includes all important member moderation functions:
access to registration management
access to the view/delete members screen
extensive profile info, including track IP/user and (hidden) online status
activate accounts
get approval notifications and approve accounts
immune to ignore PM
several small things
2nd one says:
Allows a member in this group to moderate the posts and topics of other members.
I think its a mod I installed now that I think about it. I just gotta figure out how to get in there and change the wording of "Moderate forum members" to maybe like "Moderate forum members Post/Topics" on the 2nd one.
Well thanks!
i'm assuming it's this mod
https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=4261
if so
in default > languages
look for
MemberModeration.english.php and MemberModeration.english-utf8.php
