Hey! Is there a modern looking theme that is mobile friendly or any theme that is mobile friendly?
which version of smf are you using? I'm going to assume 2.0.x

which you should install this mod anyways as most themes use some files from the default theme
Also, the 2.1 on github is pretty good as it is. Of course, usual disclaimers about RCs apply. Not really officially meant for production.

Actually both Bastion (https://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2946) & RDD (https://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2929) empowered by Hilbert so they are mobile friendly as well... And I update both theme when I update Hilbert so :)
About SMF 2.1 (Curve2) its far more modern than Curve but you probably won't notice it much due to modernization is actually under the hood...
