All you should need to do is increase the height of the header area.
Open custom.css and find
#header {
background: #1c1b1b url(../images/custom/header.png) repeat-x;
padding: 2px 2px 12px 2px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
height: 100px;
}
Change height: 100px to whatever the height of your banner is + 25px. So if your banner is has the height of 150px it would look like
#header {
background: #1c1b1b url(../images/custom/header.png) repeat-x;
padding: 2px 2px 12px 2px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
height: 175px;
}

2021-09-19.png
open custom css and find
h1.forumtitle {
font-size: 1.8em;
font-family: "Tahoma",sans-serif;
padding: 0px 0px 2px 4px;
font-weight: 400;
flex: 1 1 auto;
}
replace with
h1.forumtitle {
font-size: 1.8em;
font-family: "Tahoma",sans-serif;
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
font-weight: 400;
flex: 1 1 auto;
text-align: center;
}
You will also need to replace the padding under .header from
padding: 2px 2px 12px 2px;
to
padding: 2px 0px 12px 0px;

Would it be possible for me to change the home button to my sites homepage instead of forum, Without affecting the breadcrumbs.
I have looked for a home link but have not been able to find it.

I do not think there is an easy way to do this through the theme itself unfortunately. I know with SMF 2.0 you needed to edit the Sources/Subs.php to accomplish that. I believe it is the same for 2.1. I suggest making a separate topic in the SMF 2.1 Support section to get this information.

Open custom.css find(line 118) -
.cat_bar .desc {
color: #fff;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1.5em;
font-weight: 400;
margin: -22px 0 0 160px;
background: rgba(0,0,0,0.4);
width: max-content;
padding: 3px 6px;
box-shadow: 0 0 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.9);
border-radius: 16px;
text-shadow: 1px 2px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.2);
}
go to the margin and replace 160px with a higher px amount. I'd suggest this -
.cat_bar .desc {
color: #fff;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1.5em;
font-weight: 400;
margin: -22px 0 0 170px;
background: rgba(0,0,0,0.4);
width: max-content;
padding: 3px 6px;
box-shadow: 0 0 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.9);
border-radius: 16px;
text-shadow: 1px 2px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.2);
}
Thanks worked a treat, One thing to note was my original one I downloaded was set to 130Px I changed it to 160 and works fine.
Sorry me again just noticed this see image
the description doesn't allow for longer category names.
I don't really want to increase the margin again as will look weird on smaller named cats.

Unfortunately that is a flaw in the way I have done the description styling.
I will play around and see if I can find a better solution.
Lets consider this a bug that is being looked into.
you could maybe set the description to floatright
Quote from: shadav on September 26, 2021, 03:22:00 PMyou could maybe set the description to floatright
That would be a quick fix but I don't like it all the way over there lol.
Trying to figure out a way to make the description move over depending on the cat title. So far no luck.
You could remove the negative margin and add a display: inline
Screenshot_8.png
Yes, inline would work. So would inline-block, or flex. Although flex would depend on exactly how the child elements were handled.
That looks good maybe a couple of mm spacing between the two

Good to know thank you.
Here is the manual fix for anyone who wants to manually fix this. I will also be uploading a fixed version soon, I have one or two other small things to adjust.
open custom.css and find .cat_bar .desc (line 118)
.cat_bar .desc {
color: #fff;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1.5em;
font-weight: 400;
margin: -22px 0 0 170px;
background: rgba(0,0,0,0.4);
width: max-content;
padding: 3px 6px;
box-shadow: 0 0 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.9);
border-radius: 16px;
text-shadow: 1px 2px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.2);
}
change to
.cat_bar .desc {
color: #fff;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1.5em;
font-weight: 400;
margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px;
background: rgba(0,0,0,0.4);
padding: 3px 6px;
box-shadow: 0 0 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.9);
border-radius: 16px;
text-shadow: 1px 2px 2px rgba(0,0,0,.2);
display: inline;
}
We are adding the display : inline to resolve the issue. This allows the cat title to be as long as needed and the description will be beside it right inline ;).
We are also removing the width: max-content. We are doing this since it will no longer have any effect overall due to use using display: inline.
open custom.css and find div.cat_bar(line 103)
div.cat_bar {
background: #023570 url(../images/custom/catbg.png) repeat-x;
border-bottom: none;
border-top: 1px solid #0669d5;
padding: 0;
border-radius: 6px 6px 0 0;
box-shadow: none;
text-shadow: none;
}
change to
div.cat_bar {
background: #023570 url(../images/custom/catbg.png) repeat-x;
border-bottom: none;
border-top: 1px solid #0669d5;
padding: 0 0 4px 0;
border-radius: 6px 6px 0 0;
box-shadow: none;
text-shadow: none;
}
We are adding a padding to the bottom of the cat_bar div so it still makes the cat desc div show up in the middle of the overall cat_bar.

No need to be sorry. This is how issues are found and resolved.
Looks like I simply missed styling this class.
I will be uploading a new version which will fix this issue.

How do I update the theme do I remove old one??
Just overwrite the files, unless you installed mods that modified them.
Although I'm assuming only the css files have been edited.

}
blockquote cite {
display: block;
border-bottom: 1px solid rgba(255,255,255,0.1);
font-size: 0.9em;
margin-bottom: 3px;
}

Open Custom.css and add the following to the bottom -
.subject_title a {
font-size: .9em;
color: rgba(255,255,255,.5);
font-weight: 700;
}

Add this to the bottom of the custom.css to fix that aswell -
#ic_recentposts td {
border-top: 1px solid rgb(6, 105, 213);
padding: 0 4px 0 0;
vertical-align: top;
}
Small update : I have been working on this theme a bit and have been updating it with the changes in the GitHub build.(Location unread posts and unread topics for example) I have also been finding little things that need adjusted.
One of the more visual changes that I have made to the theme itself would be the color changes to the dropdown menu. You may also notice the new board icons.

Noted.
I don't notice to much difference by default when doing so.
What is the reason for this suggestion? Responsive reason? Just wanting to understand :).
You usually don't want to use height unless you can know for sure that the content will stay on that size.
In the header someone could put an image larger than 100px and it will cutoff, the same will happen with text and other content.

The issue was caused by the stuffnthings div being closed when search is enabled. If search was not enabled the div was remaining open.

It is possible, just to be sure open custom.css
Find line 1270 and copy+paste what is listed.
It should be -
.sceditor-container iframe, .sceditor-container textarea {
background: rgb(31, 30, 30) url(../images/custom/titlebg.png) repeat-x;
border: 1px solid rgb(2, 53, 112);
color: rgb(206, 223, 255);
}
The above settings is exactly what I found.
Oddly... you can adjust the background (31,30,30) but it only adjusts the background color for 90% of the field... the top 10% or so remains the same dark gray color...
I was going to adjust the background up a bit so I could see the dark text, but it doesn't work as that top 10% remains black...
ScreenHunter 278.jpg
Figured it out (well, the text color issue not the background issue shown above).
It shows LIGHT BLUE when in BBC/CODE mode... but in WYSIWYG mode the text is black...
THAT modes text need to be adjusted.

Issue 1 : That is normal, not really a bug.

change to

html,body {

/* Basic Things like body, a links etc */
html,body {

Adjustment : Adjusted the quick buttons colors.
Adjustment : Adjusted the text color in many areas for visibility purposes.
Update : Updated the main menus look. Now has separators in-between the links, much like the original Blue Evolution for 2.0.

Unless I am really that blind I am not seeing that question in this thread?
The screenshot you are sharing is not occurring for me either. It doesn't have the right colors either.
This is the quick reply box correct? You are also using the latest version correct?
Here is what I see -
screeny.png
The CSS line that pertains to it is in custom.css line 1413
You're not blind and I didn't explain myself well. The post I was referring to is #53 above.
I had wanted to change the background color of the textarea (both quick reply and normal reply) to rgb(79, 79, 79) but doing that gives the image I posted. Reverting back to the original does give the image you posted.
And if I load custom.css there is no line 1413. It stops at 1301.

Sounds like you may have an older version then. Be sure to download and install the latest version (1.4) from the theme website.
Attaching the latest version of the custom.css for reference.
Hopefully that solves the issue, if not just let me know :).
Okay, I deleted the version I had because I know I uploaded 1.4 and got a message saying the theme was updated successfully.
Then I got 1.4 from the mod site and added it. The custom.css is now the same one you attached so all should be good now.
Thanks
@TwitchisMental ! ;D
Edit: If I change line 1413:
.sceditor-container iframe, .sceditor-container textarea {
background: rgb(31, 30, 30) url(../images/custom/titlebg.png) repeat-x;
border: 1px solid rgb(2, 53, 112);

border: 1px solid rgb(2, 53, 112);
color: rgb(206, 223, 255);
I still get the image I posted above (with the dark section of the textarea).

This should get what you are wanting. Needed to remove the url portion so that it stops calling for the image.
I would have bet the house that I tried that and it didn't work but apparently I didn't. Works a treat now. Thanks for your patience Twitch. :)
Edit: I just realized that when I deleted the url I didn't put the semi-colon after the colors in parenthesis.

I do have one question ... probably one I should know but it escapes me at the moment ...
How do I make the header, where the logo is, expand to fit the width of the forum no matter what the width is. I set mine to 95% and the header/logo doesn't expand with it.

All you should need to do is go to line 1097 of the custom.css.
#top_section .inner_wrap, #wrapper, #header, #footer .inner_wrap {
max-width: 1200px;
margin: 0 auto;
width: 90%;
}
Change the max-width: 1200px; to whatever width you need.(1600px is a good one for wider screens) You shouldnt't need to touch any other width settings.
That's actually in index.css and no matter what I change it to, nothing changes.
Quote from: Steve on April 21, 2022, 08:58:49 PMThat's actually in index.css and no matter what I change it to, nothing changes.
*Double Checks*
Well then... Try the custom.css that I have attached .
I added that code to the custom.css and changed max-width to 1600px and width to 100%.
That should work and with your confirmation that it does, I will upload a new package overall. As this could be an issue for anyone wanting to change the overall width.
Still no change so let's make sure we're on the same page ...
Attachment 1 is how it looks normally. Attachment 2 is how it looks if I increase the forum width to 95%.
Edit: your new custom.css does work but it doesn't change with the window size.
Attachment 3 is how it looks with my browser window maximized. Attachment 4 is how it looks if I change the size of the window. The forum doesn't change with the change in window size.
My monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080.
That should not be occurring. It should adapt to the window size. I can confirm it does for me. I did notice a different background in attachment 4. Did you change some responsive settings?
Here is what it looks like for me in windowed mode at about 880px wide.

If this is a live site, you could always PM me the link, so I can see the issues live. If not no worries, just makes things a bit easier.
I haven't changed anything but some color tones.
And sure, you can see the site, can you do it as a guest or do you need to be a member?
Also, is adding this code the only change you made to the custom.css attached above?
#top_section .inner_wrap, #wrapper, #header, #footer .inner_wrap {
max-width: 1200px;
margin: 0 auto;
width: 90%;
}

Also, if you enable 'Maximum length of last/first post preview' in Forum -> Topic Settings, the text you get when hovering over a topic title is unreadable.

No need to apologize because we still found the cause :).
If you are after a specific width of the overall forum I can assist you in doing so.

Gotcha we got two small changes to make.
Open Custom.css
Find :
#top_section .inner_wrap, #wrapper, #header, #footer .inner_wrap {
max-width: 1600px;
margin: 0 auto;
width: 100%;
}
Change to
#top_section .inner_wrap, #wrapper, #header, #footer .inner_wrap {
max-width: 98%;
margin: 0 auto;
width: 98%;
}
Find :
#header {
background: rgb(28, 27, 27) url(../images/custom/header.png) repeat-x;
padding: 0px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
min-height: 100px;
width: 100%;
}
Change to
#header {
background: rgb(28, 27, 27) url(../images/custom/header.png) repeat-x;
padding: 0px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
min-height: 100px;
width: 100%!important;
}
Now we're back to the header issue. It doesn't expand to the width of the rest of the forum. You still have your account if you want to take a look.
Quote from: Steve on April 22, 2022, 02:50:44 PMNow we're back to the header issue. It doesn't expand to the width of the rest of the forum. You still have your account if you want to take a look.
Whoops I forgot one more thing.
We need to add
max-width: 100% !important;
to the header.
So overall -
#header {
background: rgb(28, 27, 27) url(../images/custom/header.png) repeat-x;
padding: 0px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
min-height: 100px;
width: 100%!important;
max-width: 100%!important;
}
Perfect! That did it. Thank you so much Twitch. :)

Adjustment: Updated the calendar colors.
Adjustment : Adjusted the recent posts section of the info center to show less information on small screen
devices.
Thank you
@Steve for reporting the tool tip bug.
My pleasure.
Were there a number of changes to custom.css because I don't really want to redo all the color adjustments I've done if I don't have to?
If there are a lot of changes, no big deal. I'd rather have the latest version of this great theme.

Not many and if it is easier you can download the new. Then open the old custom.css and new one in notepad++ and use the compare plugin to see the changes. That way you can make the changes manually on your edited version of the theme.
Cool. Thanks Twitch. :)
Unless I did something wrong in my comparison (likely), when selecting the month or week in the calendar shows the top and sides with the color #e7eaef which makes anything written in them unreadable.

Yes I did add the calendar.css to fix all that good stuff. There are still one or two other edits though. The main one being the fix to the tooltip bug you reported.
Thanks Twitch. I had done a comparison just before this update and made the change for the tooltip and a couple others I think. I then added the calendar.css from this latest update to the theme and everything seems to be working beautifully.
Thank you again. :)

Alright I have uploaded an updated version that fixes the issues that Steve has brought to my attention.

That's the older version.
Hi Twitch,
Another small issue in index.css line 702:
.auto_suggest_item {
background: #ddd;
padding: 1px 4px;
}
The background color makes the suggested item unreadable. I changed my background color to #023570.
Also in index.css line 706:
.auto_suggest_item_hover {
background: #888;
cursor: pointer;
color: #eee;
padding: 1px 4px;
}
I don't know if you want to change the hover background color or not but it was hard for me to read so I darkened it to #151515, which is probably overkill.
Thought you'd like to know. :)

I suggest downloading the newest version and using it.
That should resolve the reported issue. If it does not, let me know :).

Okay, that is odd.. As the main_menu is also showing the wrong background..
Checked another site using the same theme and it shows properly.
So does my local server.
Have you tried clearing the SMF cache?
Quote from: TwitchisMental on June 10, 2023, 12:05:07 PMHave you tried clearing both your browser cache and the SMF cache?
Done That and checked phone, still same but don't know how to CTR F5 on my phone

Ah I may have found the cause.
It looks like you have minimize css & js files turned on.
Try turning that off and deleting the minified.css files in the theme folder .
Do another refresh of the smf cache and you should be good.
If not, let me know.
If the above does not work, try the using the version I have attached. It is the version I almost have ready for 2.1.4.
I have adjusted a few things related to the main_menu which should solve your issue.
If the above does not work, just download the newest version 1.4.3, that will resolve the issue most likely.

Thanks haven't had time to look at it as very busy at the moment will try and update tomorrow and let you know.
All the best mick.
That seems to have sorted it ;D , Only thing I found was when on phone I have to use the X to close the menu it doesn't automatically close after selection
Just checked that action with Alien Shades, which works as expected.
I will of course report anything I find with day to day usage.
All the best mick.
Bloody hell! Now I'm going to have to go and redo all my color tweaks again! Just kidding Twitch, thanks for the update! ;D

The compare plugin on notepad++ makes it easier :P.
That or throw all your edits at the bottom and copy and paste them over after the update XD.
I know. I was just kidding with you. ;D

Nope you were being all serious :( . lol jk
Eventually the theme won't need any more updates XD.
This is an awesome theme. I'm using it as the default on my site.
One minor issue tho. When accessing it on a mobile device it appears the drop down menu automatically opens forcing the user to hit X each time they visit.
Any way to keep it in collapsed mode?

That definitely shouldn't be happening.
Have you downloaded the latest version and have it installed?
What is the screen resolution of this device?
Do you have a link to the forum that this is happening on?

no, thank you for an awesome theme and you're willingness to roubleshoot
Much appreciated sir
Enjoy your weekend ;)
Alright try this for me -
open custom.css
Find :
#main_menu .popup_container, #genericmenu > .popup_container {
display: block;
position: relative;
background: none;
margin: 0;
height: auto; /* In case anything fishy happens in the situations where this used make sure it stays still */
}
Remove it entirely and the bug should be resolved.
If you can confirm that for me I will make a new package with the fix included. I got a few other tweaks to make aswell.

If you made your changes in the custom.css... this update shouldn't change anything for you. Minus the bug fix.
So just apply the fix manually and replace the index.css and admin.css, you should be good then :).
Quote from: TwitchisMental on August 20, 2023, 04:38:33 PMIf you made your changes in the custom.css...
Of course I didn't. You think I'm smart or something? :D

Do the bug fix I posted earlier, upload the admin.css, and then in index.css
Find:
#detailedinfo dt, #tracking dt {
width: 35%;
margin: 0 0 3px 0;
font-weight: bold;
color: #444;
}
Change to
#detailedinfo dt, #tracking dt {
width: 35%;
margin: 0 0 3px 0;
font-weight: bold;
}
Find :
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
font-size: 1em;
color: #444;
}
change to
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
font-size: 1em;
}
That should be everything that you need done.
thanks buddy! This theme rocks!
Best one I've seen thus far and I have a few installed with the theme changer option. I like this one the best of all though
I made some minor changes to colors and what not
Quote from: TwitchisMental on August 20, 2023, 06:42:17 PMThat should be everything that you need done.
Thanks but I have all the changes I want to make (mostly just adjusting colors) saved in a text file so it'll be easier just to install your latest version and make those changes. ;D
